Players who will not admit they are bad at FPS's

im great at halo 3 online and ive only been playing xbox live scince around september 2008 and im a colnel grade 2 but on MW2 i suck hard and my highest killstreak is about 10 or 11 and i usually go negative in k/d but i do admit when i do bad but one excuse that can almost always be used when plying MW2 online is campers....those damn campers.

I had a game of Halo 3 where I betrayed a guy, clearing a triple kill as well in territories, with a single grenade. The guy instantly blamed me for letting that point go. If I didn't, they would have for sure gotten it. Not to mention that the point was at the top of isolation and I knew someone was camping with a shotty. The guy quit after trash talking me for about 2 mintues, non-stop, without breathing along with 3 of his guests so he left me, 1 vs. 5. Then he sent me a text wall trash talking me. Then the next game I got booted from killing a teammate that was trying to kill me for a straight 5 minutes, while he was yelling "Why the hell you take my sniper? You suck at sniping! (he doesn't know me and the I already got 3 head shots and a sniper spree) give me that sniper!" etc. The guy was getting me killed almost and distracted so I just wanted him to leave me the hell alone.

i hate teammates who call a weapon and see someone else take it so they kill their teammate or in infection kill their teammate for ammo then when you want to boot them it dosent let you so you kill them back but then they get the chance to boot you and they go ahead with that......those are the people i want to see burn for their sins.

I find most Live users to be reasonable, with the odd asshole thrown into most games to spice things up a little.

I have nothing against the 360 or the service, but I just find a lot of people who complain when they lose.

When you play Counter Strike or Call of Duty, it's your fault if you die.

If your playing a Team based game like Team Fortress 2, then IT IS your teams fault...the game is made so you can't take on five players at once.

It's a generally excepted fact that the mouse is way faster and more precise...then again you personally could be better off using a controller if it clicks with you better...

Just never go head to head with anyone using a mouse if you're going to play with a controller...that'll be suicide...=/

Yeah I think one thing console users have to admit is that the PC is simply better. We pay more money for them, yes, but we have better graphics, more precise controls, the ability to upgrade, etc, and custom controls, like if you wanted a mouse to better fit your hand or a keyboard with certain hotkeys.

I'm not saying that consoles are bad garbage, I'm just saying that it has to be said...

If K/D matters to you, then you, sir, should go fuck yourself. It has nothing to do with skill.

For example, I was playing CounterStrike: Source, when there was this one guy bragging about his K/D, and I sniped him with an autosniper. He proceeded to scream obscenities at me about my choice of weaponry and how it is a "noobcannon". I left, for he bothered me.

That is pure unbalanced logic. Just because you killed a guy ONCE with what I am presuming to be one of those semi-automatic Snipers, than that is absolutely no reason to say that you are better than someone.

Ok, to start off, I am Effilctar aka g3n3r4l WTF, and I am terrible at FPS online multiplayer. in all of possibly 9 hours of playing Modern warfare 2, I'm only level 21 and got my first harrier strike approximately 20 minutes ago. I admit, I am bad at FPS's, and what gets on my nerves even more than arrogant good players, is bad players who will blame anyone but themselves, often blaming their team or lag.

An example would be playing CTF today, I met a lvl 30-something, whatever prestige he was, who at the end of the game had 9 kills and 20 deaths. The first thing he did was blame his team for his lack of kills, claiming that he plays good if he is with a good team.
Now, sorry, but I always thought that a player's skill made them good at a game, not the people they play with, and if you do need a team to help you play good then you're not a very good player, are you?

Have my fellow Escapians had similar experiences?

Oh, definitely. I, for one, acknowledge that I'm not the best player. Hell, I haven't even REACHED a Harrier strike yet! Granted, I haven't player for as long as you, but I'm getting there. I die a lot because I always forget to check me corners (and those goddamn knifers running around always get me) and it can get rather irritating for me. However, I never blame it on my team, because they couldn't do anything about it. If we're spread out, then they're too far away to help me. If we're in close formation, then it's not their job to cover my sector. So, I just accept responsibility for me sucking.

It's funny, though. One time, I was playing paintball with my cousin, and we were on the same team. That team, we worked together like a DREAM. Together, we took down at least HALF of the opposing team, and I think that I scored the last kill after my cousin flushed him out of cover. After that, I went back to sucking, except for the time I scored a SWEET headshot on some guy.

I'll gladly admit when I am doing terrible in games, and I will gladly admit that it's my fault and my fault alone.

I will also do that, and I will sometimes assume that something is my fault without being entirely certain.

Anyways, I'm competent in FPS, aiming sucks, but good at tactics etc. Of course, my score wildly fluctuates between OMGNOOB to OMGHAX.

I suck at FPSs. Still haven't completed GoldenEye or Perfect Dark.

Yup, this. I've never played an FPS that I was good at, but then I'm not a fan of the genre so I just don't try.

That said, Team Fortress 2 was fun despite being terrible at it. Unfortunately I only borrowed it and now my XBL gold has run out anyway, so I couldn't play it regardless. I'd get it on the PC, but the standard of player is bound to be significantly higher so I won't be able to go three steps without getting killed. At that point it sort of stops being fun.

You play, you die, you learn, you get better. This is the cycle. Without 1:4 k/d matches, there are no 20:1 streaks. You must learn from mistakes. If others make the mistakes for you and you can learn from them, brilliant. But someone has to make them.

You know how many times people get annoyed at me when I laugh at how shitty at FPS games I am? Honestly, I don't care. I'm here for a good time. And I always laugh at the person telling me I suck, because truly he either has nothing better to do but insult people at a VIDEO GAME, or just is a complete asshole. Ignore them is what I say.

I was playing CoD: MW2 the other day on death match, and our team was losing. I had 11 kills 10 deaths and this other guy had 6 kills and 2 deaths. He started blaming the fact that we were losing on me. Granted his K/D ratio was better, but if he was out getting more kills rather than just hiding we wouldn't have been losing. Also I cant count how many times someone has been killed repeatedly by yours truly, and called me a "camper", I would be flanking and running around the whole match, but that is the first insult they could come up with. Dummies.

There is no such thing as team play in COD.
He just sucks.

I hate to admit that sometime I am quick to blame the lag. But before you burn me at the stake you should know that my ping at lowest is usually 150-175 while I'm playing against people with pings in the 20's and 30's so I think I'm kinda justified in that respect.

Yeah, no. I get lucky on 400ms.

Oh, that's bad? I was so happy the other day when I had a really high ping, I thought low was bad. Sigh.
