Ha Ha Ha, this reminds me of a class trip we had going into the city from the country via bus. we had a laptop with music goin full bore and we were all singing along, then the bus driver had to use the intercom and tell us we werent the only ones on the bus and that we were being inconsiderate of the other passengers... Then we started playing spot the aussie

Yes, This annoys the HELL out'a me.
Most of the time I can ignore it if I'm able to block it out with a good book, or my own iRiver with headphones.
But, sometimes I'm not so lucky and its those times that there are more then one individual doing it.
If I have a go at one, they will probably complain that they aren't the only ones doing it and then it gets out of hand and becomes bothersome for all involved.

One of these days though, there its going to be an empty train carriage and just me and the offender.
When that happens, I will sit across from them, look directly at them, and play the kind of music I listen to.
What do I listen to ?
Death/Thrash/Black/Industrial METAL.

If that doesn't get the message across that what they are doing is annoying, then I guess straight up taking their batteries is the next step.

I hate that crap. Why do most people think that there music is the universal best music ever that they think everyone else wants to listen to it. I especially hate it when It's the generic rap with the shitty computer added drums where the snare sounds like your hitting an old washboards, just fucking annoying.

Yea, even on the off chance that somebody plays something good (never happens) you really shouldn't play music loud enough for everyone to hear it. Especially since most of the time it is rap. Drum n' Bass is ok depending on the artist though.

This should have been posted on the off-topic forum.

But anways I really hate that too, at least justice will be served when they go deaf.

As opposed to stabbing him with a spoon?

Such a big pet peeve of mine. -_- I don't want to listen to someone else's music while on a bus. I have my own and I hate having to have "volume wars" with that person. I just don't understand it. You don't need it that loud to hear it well, so why do people do it? People lack courtesy anymore and it makes me sad.

Last school year I heard a kid coming by the noise his iPod was making, and he was at the opposite end of the longest hall in the school. I hope he goes deaf.

This behavior is not only annoying, it's stupid. Don't they realize what they're doing to their ears?

I'm normally an easy going guy, but nothing makes me Hulk out quicker than someone playing loud music early in the morning on public transportation. I used to take bus and train to work at 5 in the morning, and this sort of thing happened often. Train was the worst though. There was often this one handicapped (mentally, I think) fellow that would go from car to car playing the violin for handouts. He couldn't play worth a damn though...

The only time it annoys me is if I'm trying to read a book on the train. Just like the time the train was silent, I was thinking, "Sweet can read my book in peace" when these three feral as hell kids get on, sit right behind me and play there 50 Cent gangsta rap stuff full blast. How very annoying....

I dont really notice this much on my campus, but what gets me are people who are on the phone and talk so loud you can hear them from far away then when they get off the phone are talking in a normal quieter voice. If I did not have to get to class I would beat em with the phone... unless they gave me a damn good reason.

People do this because they are inconsiderate pricks who have a 4th grade education and think they are pretty much god. otherwise known as Chavs, Bogans, Frogans, Trailertrash and fucktards.

In public I always try to keep the volume on my MP3 player at a moderate level even though I'm sure other can't hear the music. "Just because you think your music is awesome doesn't mean others will as well." That's something I believe to be true, it's too bad others don't have enough sense or courtesy to be aware that they are bothering others.

Most of the time it's also being played on a shoddy phone speaker.

Even if they were playing 'decent' music it would be ruined. Either way it's impolite and people who do it probably aren't going to care if people tell me not to.
That used to happen all the time when i took the bus to school, luckily I had and still have my ipod.
