Agreed.John Funk said:Without Gen3 or Gen4, we'd have no Blaziken or Gardevoir. We'd have no Empoleon. We would have no Absol, no Garchomp.
Though I'm not a fan of Blaziken myself (I liked Torchic, didn't like Combusken or Blaziken, mostly the look, I wished for a devolution method after seeing them), though my Gen III favourites are indeed Gardevoir and Absol (though in the latter case there is currently a rather large clue of that to the left, and also considering how much time I spent on it).
I rather like Empoleon for being a metal penguin and also for having a ridiculously long list of resistances (unless there's one against me, then I hate that fact, damn you Battle Castle!).
I think the first two generations still contain most of my favourites, Lapras, Pikachu (of course), Scyther, Butterfree, Furret, Sneasel (and without Gen IV we wouldn't get Weavile!).
Maybe the reason for that is because that are more readily available in multiple generations? I'm not sure, though in my team in Platinum only ended up with only two Gen IV pokemon (one of them being the evolution of a Gen II).
Of course, it's another pokemon game (with simple-colour-based names, wasn't expecting that!), so it's going to be a blast, and I'm going to refrain myself from seeing any of the new pokemon so it will be that much better.
I'm pretty certain they won't introduce a new type, they only added Dark and Steel to counter Psychic's woefully unbalanced power. (Something immune to & super effective against it and something resistant to it, adding more bug moves with higher power didn't hurt either).John Funk said:Five bucks says they're introducing a Light-type.
