Jared had delayed on heading to the docks to see the new arrive. "That's pretty slick, Magnus. I've never even seen a different colored Pokemon before, that is pretty cool. Well, I'm gonna go down by the beach for a little bit, if anyone needs me that is where I'll be."
Jared walked down by the pier and saw a fishing store. Renting a rod out for an hour, he walked down to one of the more secluded parts of the pier, sat down with his feet dangling off the end, and tossed his line into the water. It was really peaceful out here, the waves softly breaking on the nearby shoreline. It was such a nice day, Jared decided to let his Pokemon out for a little relaxation as well. Jared really enjoyed doing stuff like this, where the outcome really was of little consequence. It didn't matter if you caught a Sharpedo, a Magikarp, or nothing at all, the point of it all was the in between, where you're just lazing there, accomplishing something and nothing at the same time. It was awesome.
Near the end of his hour after catching and releasing a couple of Magikarp, he was getting ready to pack up, when another bite came on the line. He was having a relatively easy time with this one. "Huh, too late to be another Magikarp," Jared said to himself. He kept reeling it in, until out of the water and onto the dock flew a tiny clam. Jared looked at it, and then jumped back as the clam stuck its tongue out at him.
"Shellder!" came the cry.
"Hey, all right! Sparky! Use thunder wave on that Shellder!" Electricity flew as Magnemite followed the command, a light wave paralyzing the Pokemon. Jared tossed one of his three remaining Pokeballs at the trapped Water type. A couple of shakes followed but the Shellder was all but resigned to its fate. "Sweet." Jared said, picking up the ball. "OK, come on guys, hour's up and I gotta get this back to the shack." He returned the other pokemon and headed back towards the others, the fishing trip having become a complete success.
