Pokemon RP Slots closed Chapter 11: I'm on a boat!

Aari and Togepi were helping Joel?s mom prepare the dinner. She thought it was quite a burden they caused with them all landing on Joel?s house. Aari handed Togepi a knife carefully and he trotted along the counter and hopped onto the table putting it into place.
Joel?s mom leaned over to her and smiled.

?Aari, I can handle this. Why don?t you go outside?? She said.

?Are you sure?? Aari said, catching Togepi as he almost fell.

?Positively? She said again.

?Alright, call me if you need me.? Aari said, walking outside.

It seemed that everyone was doing their own thing. Aari didn?t know who to go to so she simply walked over to a small bench and sat down. She stared at the sky?

jeffery continued to lean backwards staring at ceiling trying to look as inconspicuous as possible as he tried to listen in on Rodney`s conversation after about two minutes of not hearing anything interesting jeffery got bored and walked off to go take his shower.

jeffery felt revitalized as he stepped out of the shower cubicle he saw the clothes were laid out for him he put them on and for lack of something better to do he walked outside and looked out at the Pokemon playing he took out his pokeballs and released machop,chameleon and ghastly and let them have a run around jeffery then decided to lie on the grass and take a nap the last thing he saw before dozing off was lucario walking by.

lucario noticed Jeff was asleep and a wicked idea came upon him he walked over to ghastly who was planning on sneaking up on red and scaring the daylights out of him.

"hey ghastly I got an even better idea of who you should scare" lucario whispered pointing to Jeff who was napping.

"oh scaring a human that would be fun" ghastly squealed with a huge smile on his face.

"okay here`s what we do" lucario then leaned in and whispered something into ghastly`s ear.

"oh that`s a good plan let`s do it" ghastly said floating over to jeffery. lucario followed and stood to jeffery`s left side he signaled ghastly to get ready.

"HEY JEFFERY ROCKETS ARE ATTACKING" lucario yelled, jeffery`s eyes snapped open and he immediatly saw ghastly.

"GHAST" ghastly yelled shocking jeffery.

"AHHHH don`t do that" jeffery said admonishing ghastly whilst breathing heavily, lucario and ghastly were laughing madly lucario had to hold his sides while ghastly hit the ground rolling back and forth. "can`t even have a nap nowadays can I" jeffery said with an annoyed look on his face he walked back into the house and sat back down at the table leaning his chair back whilst staring at the ceiling.

OoC: Here they come!

The group sat around the table and couch ready to eat the delicious meal Joel's mum had prepared for them when suddenly- "DING DONG!,DING DONG!" The doorbell rang, Rodney was the closest to it so he went to open the door.

When he opened it he saw a man in his mid to late twenties with long blue hair wearing a suit and a woman around his age, with very,very long pink hair also wearing a business suit around their knees stood a Meowth. The blue haired man spoke first "Hi we were just wondering if you'd like to buy any Magikarp, perfect for evolving or eating, the can eve--" The man spoke in an aristocratic tone but when he got a good look at Rodney he dropped the box and the three of them huddled together on the porch screaming "AAAAH AAAAAH DON'T HURT US!". Rodney was amazed the three of them their Meowth could speak!.

Rodney replied not wanting to make these people run away "Why would I hurt you?, I don't even know you!" The Meowth very carefully stepped forward and inspected Rodney carefully he turned back to his owners and said. "Guys, it ain't him!" The woman straightened herself up now and puzzedly said "It's not the lead twerp?" And then the man also straightened up asking Rodney "Boy, do you have a Pikachu?" Rodney replied "No but I want to catch one at some point" the three again gulped as if about to continue screaming.

Now it was Rodney's turn to question "So...who are you and who did you think I was?" much to his surprise the group took up stances as if performing and said "To protect the world from devastation, to unite all peoples our nation, to denounce the evils of truth and love, to extend our reach to the stars above, Jesse, James, Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light, surrender now or prepare to fight! Meowth that's right!" Rodney went from humour to rage at the mention of Team Rocket he called Chompers to his side and said "I don't have a Pickachu but you can be plenty scared of my big friend here".

Jesse, James and Meowth as Rodney persumed their names to be then very apologetically said "We're so sorry, old habits die hard, we quite Team Rocket years ago, just when we saw you dressed like that it reminded us of the boy we were sent to steal a Pikachu from."

Ok so they're morons, no doubt there but they used to be in Team Rocket so maybe we can get some info from them Rodney thought, he then bought a whole box of Magikarp which he promptly handed to Chompers and then invited the odd trio in.

Magnus saw the three former Rockets come into the house, they seemed somewhat nervous at the sight of Rodney. He seemed to remind them of someone they had once known.

"Sorry about the scare, guys." Magnus apologized. "It's just that we've been on our toes a lot lately... I don't know if you've seen the news, but Team Rocket kind of wants us dead. Don't worry... we're not going to hurt you."

"Says the twerp, eh... kid.. with a knife on his belt... " James responded.

"Wait a minute..." Meowth said, surprising Magnus. "You guys are the ones from Cerulean... from the Beach Brawl."

"Hey! Meowth's right..." Jesse added. "I remember now, you're the kid who made that challenge to Team Rocket." She pointed at Rodney.
"And you're the kid who...*gulp*.. who killed one of those Grunts."

"That's right..." Magnus said. "I did kill him. And others like him. But that's not important right now..."

"What is important, then?" James asked. "How can we help you? We've been out of the Team Rocket circle for five years..."

"First of all... you can tell us... Who exactly was it that you thought Rodney was?"

OoC: Hell breaks loose tomorrow, I'm not going to be able to post at peak time because school starts so leave all battle posts open-ended, I've set this up to be the "big one" for a while yet, especially due to the proximity of the two cities= easy reinforcements on both sides.

Joel decided to sneak out the back door after dinner. He wanted to visit Erika alone before he went with everyone else. He needed to talk to her about the situation without the emotions running high from everyone else. He mad his way through the town, Q and Ace by his side, Blade in his pokeball.

Joel approached the gym at about 7:30 pm, about one hour before it closed for the night. Making his way through the front door, he made an immediate left into the garden. He knew where Erika was at this time of evening, she would be tending the flowers.

Joel approached the young woman who was watering flowers, "Erika, I need to talk to you."

"I'm sorry, I'm not taking any more challengers to..."she began to say as she looked up. As soon as she saw Joel though, she stopped and smiled, "Joel, when did you get back? What has it been, a year since you left Celadon. I see Ace is doing well, and who is this cute little pokemon," she said, smiling at Q.

"Cubone, Cu, Cu," My name is Q, Joel fixed my arm when it was hurt, so I wanted to travel with him the Cubone said.

"How sweet, so what did you want to talk to me about Joel?" Erika offered Joel a seat on a stone bench next to her.

"Well, my friends and I are being chased by Team Rocket and they are slowly taking over Kanto. Celadon is likely next on their list and we need support. My parents and my friends and me have already promised to protect this town, I need to know if you and your trainers can help," Joel was serious, and Erika was listening intently, "we escaped from Lavender town and Saffron city which the Rockets have already overtaken. That means that they could attack Celadon tomorrow if they wanted to." Joel's voice got quiet and he put his hand on Erika's, "we need your help. Please."

"Joel, Celadon is my home and I will defend it to the end," Erika said standing up, "I'll make sure we are ready for the Rockets, you can count on me. Also, there is someone who wants to talk to you. Eve, you can come out now."

"Wait, Eve? where is she at?" Joel's perked up. He missed his young Eevee friend he used to run around with in the gardens when he was younger. Suddenly, Joel heard a cry behind him.

"Leeeaaaffeeeon!" Joel, Joel, Joel a small plant-like pokemon jumped on Joel's back.

"Eve, how did you become a....wait, what are you?" Joel looked at the pokemon he had never seen before.

"She has become a Leafeon. It is a rare pokemon in Kanto, the only ones I've ever seen were in Eterna Forest in a land far away. She must be special. Why don't you take her with you?" Erika said, smiling sweetly, "she has really missed you. Catch her."

Joel looked at his friend and then at Eve. He took out a pokeball and tapped the Leafeon on the head. The pokemon looked overjoyed at this and did not even struggle in the pokeball.

"Thanks Erika. My friends and I are going to stop by tomorrow. I just wanted to talk to you first. Later." Joel said, waving as he left.

"Goodbye Joel. I'll see you tomorrow and remember, you and your friends are not alone." Erika said as Joel left to return home, his new pokemon in tow.

Magnus spoke with Jesse, James, and the talking Meowth about what was going on.

"So you're telling me..." Magnus asked. "That you chased this 'Ash Ketchum' kid, for three years, just to catch a single Pikachu?"

"This was no ordinary Pikachu." James added. "It was extraordinarily strong, and it knew Voltackle. The number of times we'd been hit by its attacks, we know that Pokemon's power."

"Wait... Ketchum... from Pallet Town?"

"Yeah." Meowth added. "Why, what's up?"

"Red's father was a Cyndaquil that belonged to Ash Ketchum... Professor Oak told me. He said he hadn't made contact with Ash for almost a year."

"You got a Pokemon that came from the old twoip's Pokemon's loins?" Meowth asked. "It must be somethin' else."

"I'll show you..." Magnus called Red inside and the Pokemon hopped to his Trainer's side. "He's an alt-color Pokemon."

"I remember that Cyndaquil, too. Back in Johto..." James recalled. "This little guy has the same look. Smaller, and a different color, but practically the same."

"Enough reminiscing..." Jeffrey said. "Tell us about what Team Rocket's plans are!"

"Honestly, I don't know." James said. "Giovanni quit last year, he left management to someone else. Seeing as it was Giovanni's mother who left it to him, He probably left it to one of his children, his daughter Lucille or his son, Lil' Giovanni."

"Wait a minute..." Magnus needed clarification. "You're saying that Lucille is the old Boss's child? Holy Shit..."

Joel made it back to the house at about 8:30 pm, all of his pokemon walking beside him. Ace was chattering happily with Eve. And Blade was showing Q how to properly wield the bone she carried around with her.

"You guys stay out here and get to know each other better. I'm going to see what everyone else is doing," Joel said, leaving the pokemon to play and train together. He entered the house to find everyone in the Living Room chatting with the two salesman and their Meowth still. He sat sown on the armrest of the couch next to Aari and listened in.

Rodney was passing by at this time lost in his own thought when he heard the lates revelation his immediate response was "Your fucking kidding!" then he quickly clamped his mouth remembering to be respectful.

Rodney considered it for a second then said "It can't be Lucille, she doesn't have the outfit or the pokemon of the boss of the Rockets, by extension that crosses out Kristoph...maybe it is this "Lil' Giovanni""

Jeffrey said "Who else could it be? even Mewtwo has run off somewhere, probably off in some cave for all we know" the mention of Mewtwo also seemed to send a shiver down the spine of the ex-rocket trio. Rodney mentioned thinking out loud "If only we could find the Ketchum kid" the Meowth jumped up from his seat and said "Well, you could find his twoip friends, Brock from Pewter and Misty from Cerulean are the two that live in Kanto" Rodney shook his head saying "There's not enough time to back track even with the Cycling Road".

Suddenly a half-grin came across Rodney's face as the three were preparing to leave "Can you guys battle?" James replied "Well not literally per say that well but we do have lots of explosives, traps and machines left from our old Rocket days, why are you asking?"

Rodney then explained exactly what was going to happen...

OoC: Next poster is to have the offical "challenge" set up by the current Rockets in that they have surrounded the city putting Celadon on seige hopefully I'll be able to post again by the time I have to go to bed (1hour) because there is some things I need to set-up if I see time is running short I'll PM Magnus with the outlines.

Magnus heard Rodney explain to the former Rockets his plan for their particular set of skills. They said that they would be happy to help, seeing as Team Rocket never really appreciated them.

"Alright, it's getting around that time." Magnus said. "We have a lot of work to do tomorrow, so we all need to get ready. Joel, fancy a battle? I've yet to battle against you, and I could use a good opponent. You can use whatever new Pokemon you have on your belt."
Magnus mentioned the new pokeball that Joel was wearing, he was interested in seeing exactly what Pokemon he managed to catch while he snuck out.

Meanwhile, at the Rocket Headquarters in Saffron.

"Come in." A well-dressed man with slicked brown hair beckoned the visitor to his office. He stroked the Dunsparce that slept soundly on his lap.

The door opened, and Lucille walked elegantly through.

"How are you Brother?" She asked. "It is good to see you."

"Likewise. What have you to report?" Lil' Giovanni answered.

"Unfortunately, we've lost the group of children. But we are almost completely sure that they are somewhere within the vicinity of Celadon City."

"Celadon... That bright green Metropolis has been a thorn in my side for too long. It doesn't surprise me that the people of Celadon would harbor those brats. We must send a message that we are not to be trifled with."

"Another thing, LG. We discovered the bodies of Rocket Grunts Joenes and Stevens near the entrance to the Underground Tunnel outside Lavender. One had gunshot wounds... the other had his throat slashed. According to the coroner, the person had to be quite skilled with a knife."

"Do you have any idea whom it could be, sister?"

"I do. I believe it was one of the children we are chasing. The one who battled me in Pewter, and then again in the sewers. He carries a large knife on his person at all times, it seems only logical that he would be the one."

"Yes, but why would he kill the guards by the Tunnel, if they went by a different route?"

"Could be any number of reasons, possibly to put us off their trail."

"Thank you, Lucille. You may go now."

"Thank you. Brother... If I may ask you something?"

"Go ahead..."

"Why are we doing this. Father specifically warned against making large plans such as this, why are we doing this... and why do you care so much about catching these children?"

"In good time, my dear sister... In good time. Here is what I want you to do. Tomorrow morning, I want you to make an announcement over Celadon City that they are to hand over those children to us and surrender peacefully. Otherwise... things may get ugly."

"Brother... are you sure of this? This will not end well."

"I have made up my mind, go now!"

"Yes, Boss."

Joel accepted Magnus' offer to Battle.

"Let's go out back, we can use the yard," Joel said, "how about we both use two pokemon. That way we have some pokemon healthy. You know, just in case something happens."

Joel and Magnus make their way out into the backyard, Joel showing Magnus a small square where they can battle. "I'm going to use Q and Eve" Joel said, calling over the two pokemon from the other side of the yard. Magnus sees the small Cubone and a strange, leafy Eevee running towards Joel. "So, who are you gonna use Magnus? I'd really like to see Eve versus Scout, that would be amazing to see two freaky fast pokemon battling, but it is up to you."

Seeing Magnus and Joel go outside for a battle he decided to follow. "Who knows maybe I'll get some ideas for Jack and Lilly." he said to himself taking a seat on a nearby bench. He saw Jack and Lilly asleep under a near by tree and saw no reason to bother them now.

"A Leafeon, eh?" Magnus commented the plant-based evolution of Eevee. "I haven't seen one of those since my brother and I last saw each other. His first Pokemon was an Eevee, and seeing as we lived in Eterna City, we spent a lot of time in the forest."

"That's pretty nice Magnus," Joel said. "but you still haven't picked your Pokemon."

"You go ahead and start with Q. I'll start with Reynard."

"Reynard? Alright, go Q." The Cubone stepped forward and brandished her bone like a club.

"Go Reynard, show your stuff!" The Vulpix blasted out of the pokeball and barked at the Cubone. "You go first Joel... START!"

"Q, show him some of the training you've been doing with Blade, use Bonemerang," Joel says releasing some pent up emotions with a friendly battle.

"CUBONE!" yelled Q as she hurled the small bone right at Reynard.

"Reynard, jump up and out of the way," said Magnus, getting into battle mode.

Reynard jumps up into the air, the bone sailing past the red fox. As Reynard began building up an ember, the Bone came sailing back, hitting Reynard in the back of the head and causing the Ember to hit the ground. Reynard spun in mid-air, landing gracefully an his feet with a strong "Vulpix, Vulpix, Vul" good job kid, but watch this said Reynard as a small odd colored light built up in his mouth.

"Good choice Reynard. Reynard, Confuse Ray" Magnus said with a hearty laugh.

The small fox pokemon timed the ray perfectly. Right as Q was catching the Bone Club in her hand, the multicolored ray hit. The look on Q's face told it all.

"Q, use Sand Attack," said Joel, hoping the confusion would wear off before Q hurt herself.

Q, tried launching a blast of sand but ended up hitting herself in the head, clearing the confusion just in time for her to see the bright blue foxfire heading right towards her, too late for her to dodge. The foxfire hit her dead on, burning her rather badly. Q fell to one knee, using the bone in her hand to stand back up.

"Q, dodge, Reynard's coming right at you," Joel tried to say, but it was too late. Reynard charged right at Q with a tackle, throwing her backward. But as Q stood up from the hit, battered and bruised, she began to glow with a bright light.

"I love this part." said Joel as he heard a loud "Marowak!" coming from Q.

"Q, use Headbutt!," said Joel. Q rushed the small fox pokemon with a newfound Vigor befitting her new form, hitting him dead on and throwing him back. Magnus, realizing that Reynard was beaten, recalled the fox back into its pokeball.

"Great job Q! I'm so proud of you," Joel said. "Marowak, Marowak, Wak, Wak!" I couldn't have done it without you said the Marowak, rushing off to brag to Ace now that she is taller than him.

"So, Eve is next for me, how about you?" Joel asked Magnus

Nicely done Falcon. Does foxfire=Will'o'Wisp?

Magnus recalled Reynard, having battled valiantly against Q. He sent out his second Pokemon... Red.

"Magnus..." Joel responded. "You're using Red? He's just a child... Are you sure that you want to do this?"

"Dead sure. Red, use Ember." The rusty-colored Cyndaquil spat out a barrage of small fires at the Leafeon, a few of them striking her along her body.

"Alright, I'm not holding back though."

"I didn't expect you to."

"Eve, use Razor Leaf!" The Leafeon scattered several razor-sharp leaves which flew at the Cyndaquil.

"Quil, Cyndaquil!" I've been training with Reynard... Watch this. The Cyndaquil curled up tightly into a ball, immunizing it from the leaves.

"A Defense Curl? Impressive. Red, use Smokescreen!" Smoke billowed from the little Pokemon's back, shrouding the field in a thick black that could not be seen through.

"Eve, use Sand Attack to push that smoke away." Eve kicked up a fair amount of dirt, which mixed with the smoke, causing it to dissipate.

"Red, Ember!" The Cyndaquil shot more flames at the Leafeon.

"Use Quick Attack!" Leafeon charged directly through the flames, taking less damage by speeding through them. The Leafeon struck Red head on, knocking the little Pokemon backward.

"Red, get up and use Leer!" Red made eye-contact with Eve, causing it to ease back a bit and lower its guard.
"Now Tackle!" Red slammed into the Leafeon, hitting it hard.

"Eve, Quick Attack!" Eve rushed forward towards Red, gaining speed and power.

"Quickly, use Defense Curl!" Red curled himself up tightly, reducing the damage taken by the charge. As the Pokemon flew backward, tightly curled, he glowed white and gew in size. When the light faded Red unfurled himself and showed his new power as a Quilava.

"Eve, Razor Leaf!" Leaves shot towards Red, striking him in the chest. The little Quilava staggered in its recovery and got up.

"That's enough... Red, return." Magnus called back Red into his pokeball. "You win Joel, thank you for the battle."

Jared returned from his excursion into the city, his purchases from the department store he made with his slot winnings tucked under his arm, as he saw Joel's house up ahead. He went upstairs into one of the guest room and fell asleep on the bed there.

If those rockets are still after us, I got a feeling its gonna be a long day tomorrow...
