Well, if the kid was unruly and couldn't be wrangled any other way. Go for it. The police have a heard job as it is, without accusations of brutality.

He failed to restrain a ten year old girl?

This guy fails at basic manliness and I thus designate him, ?Pussy for Life?.

Although it did seem to harsh I do still think it was right, even if it did hurt the girl you had to restrain her.

calling the police for a domestic dispute, i can understand
but [HEADING=1]refusing to take a shower?[/HEADING]
i hope not all of america is like this...
i havent been trained to be a policeman, nor have i taken law, so if the policeman deemed it necessary, maybe it should have happened, but
a) i dont see why it would be, against a 10 year old GIRL
b) i cant understand why he didnt use it on the mother for wasting police time
i mean, thats still an offense, right?

No, but assault on a police officer is different. And, FYI, I am liberal, I just know that assault on a police officer is bad.
I think we're going to have to agree to disagree here mate! You must be the first liberal I've met who defends using weapons on kids.

Well I presumed it was not a taze gun but those handheld ones, I just didnt know what to describe it as. If she was swinging a large knife at them, maybe taze her. It should have been LAST resort short of using a real gun. They must have other less physical ways to subdue her. It still seems like incompetent cop and even more incompetent mother being idiots.
The police usually carry tasers not stun guns. Tasers are higher voltage and can fire the barbs, they can also be used without firring the barbs.

Techniques cops use to take down people are intended to be used on grown people. Children are usually bit more easy to injure. Not that I know for a fact that this girl was small. She could have looked like a 16 year old for all I know. I have seen some large 10 year old girls. The article fails to mention her size as well. This was just a brush with a taser to subdue her, would you rather he tackled her and rammed her to the ground, then forced her arms behind her back while using his knee to hold her down as he grabbed his cuffs? Cops are not trained to be dainty about take downs. I know they broke a rib of mine before, but I was resiting. I was also in the country illegally so whatever.

Waaait wait wait wait. A 10 year old girl was unable to be restrained by a police officer.

That is so unbelievably shocking. Seriously. How the hell are they supposed to handle a fully grown, likely armed, criminal who has the motivation of attempting to prevent himself from spending large amounts of time (Oh it would certainly seem long) 'behind bars' or doing community service.

Yet, a 10 year old girl, who didn't want to take a shower (Who's survival instincts WOULDN'T trigger under the act of being forced to take a shower?), was unable to be restrained by a police officer, and had to resort to using a tazer, and was clearly out of any other options?

Liek WtF.

What sort of law is agaisnt hitting a child, but allows one to be tazered.

Not after they break the law, and you're a cop.
What if you are not a cop, but a waffle?
I'll give you some time to think that one over.

They should have called the RSPCA instead...

That's the Animal Cops to non-Britons...

Using a tazer is probably overkill in this situation. But what were they gonna do? Shoot her with a tranq gun? Gassed her? Smack with a club? The kid was acting like an animal, I think the police were justified to defend themselves especially since she attacked them. But her mum is clearly a ***** who can't raise a decent child...

Good, serves her right. more unruly kids should be zapped D<
hell tazers don't hurt enough, why not wire the kid up to the mains throw water over her and turn the mains on.

You know you're unfit to be a parent when you counter your child's bad attitude by calling the Police.

Unless your child is Hannibal Lecter.

Couple of points;
1) A standard non-modified taser develops 3 milliamps, enough to cause minor temporary nerve damage (area sore for a day or two), temporary paralysis (frozen for how long you hold the button) and tend to calm people down.

2) He probably hit her with the mildest setting (around .5 milliamps on some tasers)

3) The guy got hit in the groin, seriously even if you wear a cup it still goes up into the jewels. NOT a fun experience.

4) She assaulted a police officer, on a grown man he would've hit him with a high setting, took him to the ground and probably seriously injured him.Not smart on children.

I can see your point but tbh it doesn't hurt after and tends to be a really good deterrent for violence. Anyone else think this isn't justified?

Edit: The model he used is actually 0.1 milliamps, that's just underkill.

Whoever raised her is a bad person.

Also, hooray for tasers! It's like lightning, but portable!
