The LHC will pop open a dimensional vortex at that time, sucking the entire universe inside.
If the whole universe is sucked inside a hole created by the LHC will we actually notice?

Humans have made so many doomsday prophecies, and none of them have come true ... I doubt this one will either.

In 2012...

THE OLYMPICS ARE COMING TO LONDON! \/\/007!!!

(apologies for the allcaps)
Ooh I forgot about that. Maybe the opening show they've designed will explode, destroying the Olympic arena with the kind of explosion that would make the Spooks writers jealous.

I just don't know. I hope its a rebirth of the earth.

Without the humans.

(Yes, I realize I would be dead, but for the better of the earth)
(I also realize that the next dominant race would probably do the same thing, but that would be billions of years. So the earth may recover/adapt)
This is an unusual opinion. Since when is a hunk of rock more important than the human race? There are billions of planets out there, but how many of them sustain intelligent life? It seems like this opinion hasn't been thought though at all.

As for this mayan thing, I don't think they actually predicted this as the end of the world, I think they just ran out of numbers to count to.

I enjoy the fact that I'm set both ways.

I also fear monger among my stupids at school.

[sub]Hehe, that's right, stockpile your food, max out your credit cards, know that it was in vain... or not[/sub]

By what measure? The Earth doesn't give a fuck if we're here or not, as its just a ball of rock and incapable of feeling anything.

Who knows, maybe so many people will think something horrible is going to happen that the majority of the world's population goes and hides in vaults deep underground and refuses to come up, effectively causing the end of civilization as we know it. Wouldn't that be ironic?
But probably nothing. The Mayan Long Count calendar doesn't say a word about the apocalypse. They just probably got sick of carving dates into stone when they realized they were predicting a thousand years into the future. "Hell, just let the Mayans a thousand years from now handle it!" And though there are no longer any Mayans, we still seem to be able to keep track of time. The calendar wasn't really that significant.

since when does life even matter? no life is significant. no one matters. all intelligent life does is live for awhile, and then eventually die out. no matter how evolved. humans dont matter, neither do any aliens or other lifeforms. nothing matters. if we all die, you know who will care nobody, and if someone does care, they will soon die. life really doesnt matter, nothing and noone is significant. existing really isnt a whole lot different from nothing, cause either way it doesnt matter. depressing i know

December 21, 2012 - a lot of nothing will merge with another lot of nothing creating a nothing explosion so big that the nothing particles resulting from the blast will cause the greatest nothing cloud in human history.... so I guess it`s a big event...

The Mayans weren't smart enough to beat the Spanish, I doubt they were smart enough to predict the future. On the other hand what if nothing does happen. Nothingness covering everything, returning to universe to void once more.

I predict the rise of Cthulu.

The fact that some people actually believe this crap makes me weep for humanity. I can't truly express how retarded these prophecies are.
