I decree that the decade that had "Ren and Stimpy" Wins by default, all objectioners must report over my trap door that is covered by a body bag that you must enter before we speak.

90s! 90s! 90s!!

Its all about the 90s.

Cow and Chicken, I am Weasel, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Rocko's modern life, Ren and Stimpy, Earthworm Jim, Freakazoid, Digimon, Pokemon, Futurama, Bucky O' Hare, (a childhood favourite and severly overlooked!), Ghostbusters, Batman, X-men, Spiderman, The Tick, Angry Beavers, Animaniacs, CatDog, The Incredible Hulk, Johnny Bravo, Pinky and the Brain, Might Max, Street Sharks, Super Mario Super Show, Swat Kats, and Sonic the Hedgehog (NOT Underground, that was complete garbage!)

EDIT: HOW COULD I FORGET:
Biker Mice From Mars, Magic Schoolbus, (and not technically cartoons: Beast Wars series).
Gargoyles was pretty good too.

EDIT 2: How could I forget Dexter's Lab, Beetlejuice (technically 1989, but I was watching it in the Uk in the nineties so it counts for me, as well as DBZ too!), Aladdin, Hercules, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Timon and Pumba, and Rugrats.
And Tenchi Muyo and Sailor Moon, (as well as DBZ!), were the animes that introduced me its wonderful world! <3

00's

err...

Samurai Jack, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Fosters HFIF, Duck Dodgers, Justice League, The grim adventures of Billy and Mandy.

Pretty much it..

It's a simple equation:

80s>90s=70s>60s>00s
Therefore, for the purpose of this topic, 90s cartoons are better. Eespecially the early 90s ones, like Animaniacs and Samurai Pizza Cats.

Or Scooby-doo! What's wrong with you people?!
Scooby-Doo ran from '69-73, kiddo. Way too early to be OT.
Really? I used to watch it when I was young and I was born in 92.
Must've been re-runs...

The current cartoon generation fails in quality. It's not simply nostalgia since I still watch the original Tom and Jerry cartoons which were hand drawn as well as the Looney Tunes. One try at making the Roadrunner today and soccer moms will be up your arse because anvils fall out of nowhere on the villain protagonist.
What do you mean soccer moms will be up my arse?

Does anime count?

If so, both the 1990s and the 2000s were good.
Even before the 90s were good(for anime)
But, to be fair, even bad anime is better than most western cartoons a majority of the time.

To me, cartoons haven't been the same since Invader Zim was taken off the air. It seems that was the turning point in history. I'm not saying Invader Zim was the best (Although it was), but I am saying that once it was off the air, things started going downhill. Because let's face it, the early 00's had some pretty beast shows too! Jimmy Neutron (which quite frankly didn't run long enough/was probably the best movie-based show ever made) and Powerpuff Girls both made their debuts in the early 00's (maybe power puff girls started in 99 or something) Dexter's Lab was fantastic, but I watch it today and it seems more boring and repetitive than anything. Who remembers Kablam!? And lastly, Johnny Bravo, or as my friends like to call him, "The Duke Nukem of Comedy". They were 90's shows. But as I said, PPG, IZ, JN, lots of great shows. In conclusion: the 00's suck NOW, but not when I was like 10 years old. Lol.

God yes! Animaniacs was the best!

I miss the great minds of Chuck Jones and the like...

For the most part, 2005+ cartoons are horrible. For instance, Spongebob was good until the creator left after the movie; all the episodes those idiots tried to put together afterward are horrible. And Cartoon Network tried, but failed, to get RID of cartoons on Cartoon Network.

on a side note, I miss Invader Zim...

Nobody's mentioned Dexter's Laboratory yet - I used to love that.
you really need to read the posts before you

and yeah 90´s all the way, i mean, i like the new shows, but they are gross and completelly filled with either Farth jokes or nancy pansy guys acting like ignorance is bliss (a few exceptions, like phineas and ferg or whatever)

in the older days we had to draw our own cartoons and to do that we had to chop down a three and shave it with a knife untill it was the size of a pencill, also we didnt had ink so we used our own blood! (and dont make me start on how we did paper to draw in)

I used to hate animaniacs, but yeah that sounds fairly accurate to me.

I skimmed - I apologize.

I lack the time for proper reading.
