Or, you know, relying on actual evidence, of which there is none for aliens.
The evidence is limited to our galaxy. There are ∞ number of galaxies. Hence "stupid or pessimistic."

I don't believe in aliens since they either exist or don't exist, it's not like they are a matter of opinion. If they decide to show up some day they won't give a shit who "believes" in their existence.

It would be silly to think that we're the only ones in the galaxy. Of course, it's also silly to think that aliens have been to Earth.

No. There is zero proof. Based exclusively on proof there is no life anywhere else.

"Space is big man" isn't proof, it is speculation. And the lack of belief in someone elses speculation is hardly grounds to call someone stupid or pessimistic.

I believe in aliens in a purely scientific manner. People who continuously spout nonsense about aliens (they're invading us, hiding as us abducting us, ect.!) and fully believe it (not jokingly) are idiots, but people who say there is no life but us in the universe are even bigger idiots. The Universe is HUGE, so HUGE it can only be typed in caps to show how HUGE it is, and because it is so HUGE, it is 100% likely there is life out there. However, most of it will be primordial, to say the least. The chances that there is intelligent life in the universe is around 80-90%, intelligence on our level is around 60-70%. Sorry, but I forgot something. With the probabilities I included, you have to think sequentially, like 100% chance there is basic life, but 80-90% of that will become intelligent, and only 60-70% of THAT will become intelligent on our level.

Even if it were infinite, that's still not proof, just probability and wishful thinking on your part.
Mathematically, maybe not. But that's not the point.

You're essentially agreeing with my original post here - to go against such a massive probability you'd be Stupid, and to not wishfully think is Pessimistic.

Hmm, will not believing in them make them any less real. This is because I've grown quite accustomed to humans controlling this planet.

You've missing the point entirely, and I can't be bothered to explain it to you. Ask me again tomorrow if you still care.

Given the incredible amount of space in the universe, I believe that there is bound to be life somewhere other than Earth.
With that said, I don't think that they will look like the stereotypical alien.
QFT. There is a formula out there to find out how many intelligent life forms there are out there right now I'm just too lazy to look that up.

The universe is large enough that they are almost certain or possibly certain to exist. They may exist in every possible form (if the universe is infinite), or they may simply exist in a form we can't detect. Either way, the odds say that they most probably do.

Considering that the three most common elements in the solar system (and thus by extrapolation, in the universe) are, in order of appearance, Hydrogen (70 mass-%), Helium (27,5 mass-%) and Oxygen (0,6 mass-%), this makes water the most common bi-element molecule in the universe: H2O.

So, yeah... Also, a funny totally entirely absolutely unrelated fact: Carbon is the fourth most common element in our solar system, with 0,3 mass percent.

Hydrocarbons and water... hmm....
So you're saying that there's probably a lot of smog in the universe?

I belive they might be other life form in the universe... it's way too big so it only had happened here.... But i dont belive any of them had come to earth. The distance are so enourmous it's increadible an alien species who would have mastered the technologie to travel such distance in a life times would look at us as barelly above the level f ants who will would hold no interest for them

I'd argue that its realistic, but since I am a pessimist I can't really judge what my own viewpoint appears to others now can I.
Anyway until proof appears, I acknowledge no aliens, and I'll probably die before any evidence arises. A pity, but what can I do; life is short.
I guess that's what I was trying to convey in my original post - I think I need to calm down.

I'm having trouble finding the article, but for a school project I came across an article that stated that water has been found in distant solar systems.

With that in mind, alien life seems likely.
I'd like to know how that works, considering how:

A: There is only ONE solar system (the one with the star "Sol" in the center), and

B: We haven't gotten probes out to the closest star system, and won't for thousands of years (the nearest one is 38 trillion kilometers away).
