Not to mention, if he hadn't made it clear from the start why he didn't donate money, people would only have pestered him for an explainaton anyway. It wasn't cruelty, it was saving time.Jonluw said:Edit: And why do so many people vote that he shouldn't say it out loud? If people think I'm a bad person for thinking the way I do, I don't want to associate with them in any case.
Yes, yes you are.Mr. Google said:So this Tuesday 3 girls went drunk driving at 11 AM and crashed. 1 died 2 are in a coma. One of there friends came around asking for a donation to help pay there medical bills. I declined and said if theyre dumb enough to go drunk driving at 11 in the morning on a snowday when the roads are bad then they can face the consequence and pay for it themselves. I got a lot of dirty looks and i was told i was being selfish. Does this mean im a jerk or would you have done the same?
Indeed. Hiding whom you are because people might not like your true face is not a thing I see as very honorable. Unless, of course, people seeing your true character might actually have some dire consequences for you. For example, not telling your customers you think they are idiots.busterkeatonrules said:Not to mention, if he hadn't made it clear from the start why he didn't donate money, people would only have pestered him for an explainaton anyway. Personally speaking, I hate that it's how things are. The fact that my country-men have decided that healthcare should be for profit, is honestly disgusting. I don't like to think that if I get really sick, my life will be held hostage until I pay a ransom so that a doctor will heal me.Woodsey said:Kpt._Rob said:You underestimate the cruelty of the American healthcare system.Woodsey said:So if you have no family or friends, and no insurance, the hospital takes you off of life support?maddawg IAJI said:They pay monthly, not when you wake up I believe and if no one can pay, then they take them off life-support I would imagine or come to some kind of deal with the Insurance company or the victim's family. Needless to say, its a flawed system.Woodsey said:What happens if they're in a coma for 20 years and no one pays?maddawg IAJI said:He's an American, we don't have free health care over here and someone needs to pay to keep the hooked up to life support >_>Woodsey said:Wait, what? People wake up from a coma and get fucking charged?
As for your actual point, I can see where you're coming from. I don't know if I'd side with you if it came up, but I can see your point.
That can't be what happens! What the fuck? How does anyone even condone that, let alone allow it to go ahead?maddawg IAJI said:If you show no signs of improving and they can't find any legal way to pay for your life-support, then ya, that's what they do. Thankfully, I don't believe it happens often.Woodsey said:So if you have no family or friends, and no insurance, the hospital takes you off of life support?maddawg IAJI said:They pay monthly, not when you wake up I believe and if no one can pay, then they take them off life-support I would imagine or come to some kind of deal with the Insurance company or the victim's family.
