was actually asked by some girls I know about my opinion of such an event (though it was a hypthetical "what if" thing) and I said quite simply I would not feel sorry for them. I dont know the people, and if they were driving drunk, they asked for what happened to them. Than I was asked how I would like the same treatment if I was in that situation, and I couldnt help but laugh. Whne they asked why, I told them that while I may be a C+ average college student, Im not stupid enough to get behind the wheel of a vehicle while drunk, and if I ever was, and I didnt die but went into a coma, and ppl got donations to help with my treatments, if I woke up, I wouldnt send thank-you letters, but little cards saying, "you're a moron."
So, no, you are not a bad person, you are not a great person though, but you're not a prick like people probably said you are. You're smart enough to know that having sympathy for those girls is against the laws of nature. (and yes, I am a firm believer in Darwini's theory.)

Indeed. Hiding whom you are because people might not like your true face is not a thing I see as very honorable. Personally speaking, I hate that it's how things are. The fact that my country-men have decided that healthcare should be for profit, is honestly disgusting. Due to the dead. In the same way that you don't badmouth someone behind their back unless you're pretty mean, badmouthing someone when their dead begins to cross a line of common decency, especially when talking to their friends.
You're not a bad person per se, and you weren't entirely wrong in your beliefs, but that was not the time to express them.

This happened at my high school. Two girls got into a car (while intoxicated) with a drunk driver knowing he was drunk and they crashed. One ended up in a coma for like 2 weeks. Everyone felt bad for them and wanted to help them. They got all this special attention and allowances. I hated that they were being rewarded for their stupidity and for endangering people who weren't involved (pedestrians and other drivers).
