I didn't really like the song OP posted, but I do enjoy listening to some hardcore. Especially Shai Hulud, they're amazing.

UGH MAKE IT STOP.

I'm into ok with most music, so long as it aint jazz, rap, or emo.

As for the emo culture...... 2:30-2:53 5:03-5:08 5:43-6:02, but watch the whole thing. It is so funny.

Lots of people like terrible generic screamo.
Oh god, oh please god, don't be a douche. Also 'screamo' is not a suitable term for punk/hardcore/metal music which utilises screaming vocals so don't use it, kay?
It's not punk (HAHAHAHAHA), it's not hardcore (vanilla pudding is harder), and it's not metal (it's not hilarious.)

Dammit, what did I say, hmm? Tut tut. If you wanna be technical (fuck knows why) I'd call that song post-hardcore which is a sub-genre of hardcore. Hardcore is an extension of hardcore punk; hardcore punk is a branch of punk rock. Did I really have to do that, Mr. Gigglepants?

I think it's absolutely dire. It doesn't work switching from derivative punk rock to the screaming so rapidly, and with no build up whatsoever. It's like it was written in parts, and then just stitched together.

Also, that guy who's up to his neck in milk looks absolutely ridiculous.

I'd call it "shit."

Also that's like calling "Tricky" blues because they both use guitars.

I do enjoy me some metal. It's not terrible...I don't like the weak high-pitched whiney/punkey/Blink 182-type singing though. The metal-sounding parts aren't bad. You could do much, much worse.

And the answer to any 'Am I the only who likes X?' question is 'No.'

Well, it's completely generic and uninspired, and their transitions between generic singing and generic screaming are non-existent. At least it's not A Day to Remember or Asking Alexandria.

I'm very proud that you angrily voice your opinion on an internet forum. Congratulations, you're one-of-a-kind. I was just showing that everything has it's roots, not that this this song, by any stretch of the imagination, is punk rock by today's standards

It's one of those things that I can really only describe as ok, it's far from good, but I can't really bring myself to describe it as bad either.

Theres nothing wrong with it but then again what is right with it? It has absolutely 0 fresh ideas or relevance to anything if it was a game it would be Wolfenstein, ok in its own way but completely lacking anything special thats probably a good way of looking at it.

The lyrics are pants, they are cliched and simple.
The melodies are reused and uninteresting.
The rhythm is your standard double kick drum tempo with no standout fills or flourishes.

My problem is not with the genre, but the lack of talent within it!

Hiya Escapist:].

So, the time has come again; I'm obsessed with a song.
If you like this type of genre but want to hear how it is done by adults check out Left Over Crack, slightly different genre, but a hell of a lot better

I find that style of vocal delivery loses its impact pretty quick.
