Wasn't there another doomsday prediction that was supposed to happen at the turn of the 21st century, you know, Y2K, which said the world would end at the beginning of the year 2000 A.D.

Yeah, thats just one example, there have been thousands of predictions, and none of them came true. Why the hell is 2012 such a big deal?

I just saw that IHC or whatever comercial about 2012. And being the come rational person I am I think I might puke. Am I worrying to much about 2012? Do you think it'll happen?

Dude, I want you to know. IHC is a movie, just telling you. Also, I highly doubt that the world will end anytime soon. Will it eventually, yes, but not within the next next couple hundred years, and if it ends before that, it wont be on some guessed date.

anyone who has actually done any research into 2012 knows that the calendar isn't predicting the end of the world, it says there will be great change or some BS, if they couldn't predict the Spanish coming to destroy their culture i wouldn't put to much stock in their other predictions

No it won't happen, and you're worrying way too damn much about a specific date because that's the supposed "Armageddon". People have these type of panics every couple years, and nothing has happened every time. Not only that, but if God was going to create Armageddon, he wouldn't give a specific date or time, he would do it when people least expected it to catch them off guard. Not that I believe in a God..... Plus, the main idea behind it is that the Mayan calendar ends that day, but if I remember correctly, it was just meant to be an end to a cycle and was meant to be celebrated. So, calm the fuck down, you have plenty of time to die from something less significant than the Armageddon, enjoy what life you've got.

That was the first hint that went off in my mind. I've seen t-shirts, movies, TV shows, clubs, organizations, and even snow globes about 2012. There is so much money to be made off of Doomsday theories. Its ridiculous!
