It'll happen when it happens. I'm not planning on waiting 'til I'm married, but I'm certainly in no rush to get that ship sailed. I've no religious beliefs, I just believe that when the time comes, that'll be when it happens for me.

I am. I know what you're thinking: "Oh my goodness! A Catholic practicing abstinence?!?! What a perfectly absurd notion!" But it's absolutely true.

I have to pull the "oops too late" card. I lost my virginity before I got married (but I did so to the wife I eventually married). I think it's odd when people get married without having intercourse first, or without having lived together for a certain period. Intercourse is a very important part of a relationship and if it doesn't "click" on that level then it could turn into a breaking point. It would be painful to find out you don't click with your partner on such an important level after you got married.

You could argue that sex isn't important at all in a relationship, but I don't share that opinion. It's a place where you are both naked and vulnerable in ever way. It's a physical and emotional act where you let your guards down. It's an act of trust, of surrendering. It's so fragile, and definitely not something to be overlooked when choosing the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

No, no and no again.
Besides, it's already too late.
I can't imagine getting married for years yet, and in the meantime I see no point in not making the most of my youth... :)

In my opinion people should only marry when they are living togheter for quite some time and truly know each other, so they certainly should have had sex.

Um no, I never planned to either. The best I did was hold out until after school, boys never interested me. The idea of abstinence until marriage would be a cruel tortue to my horny partner.

in other words you just dont get any then.... as i said its not out of choice for most people you just hide behind that thought as an excuse as to why you dont get any, unless you are very religous i just dont see the point

ok, I admit it. I approached this subject with complete cynism. I'm expecting the overall response to be like 'its cool to rebel, and what better way than to have sex like a rabbit! Nobody else does that! What could go wrong!', which anyone's that's watched more than 30 minutes of TV knows that's a lie. But what I've seen so far are people being a little more honest than their 'trying to be cool' sheep-crowd.
As for me and myself, I'm married and I waited. And I have no regrets. In fact, its worth every bit of the wait. I like the idea of my sex life being all about my spouse and no one else; its romantic in its own way.
