Yes, games are overpriced. But I picked the DS/PSP choice because they're really the only system I buy for nowadays.

The only current gen game I have bought at full price was MW2 and that was with a discount because I knew the guy working.
Ha ha ha, I can go one better than that. I flirt with the girl at Gamestation shamelessly to get my price down - but then again, she is pretty cute. :)

My limit is normally £40 for a new game, but then I'm used to PC prices which are normally about £35 for a brand new game. However, I do think that the current system where prices arn't changing, but costs are increasing is fairly unsustainable.

Americans (Or anyone else) do not get to complain. Australian's regularly pay between $100 and $110 for games, oh and our dollar is only 90 cents on the American dollar, so the exchange rate on a $60 game would $66..

Same for computer hardware, the differences in prices are stupid.

Yes, you win. But in fairness, most of the people I see working at my local games retailer are bearded and unwashed, so that makes flirting difficult.

Ha ha ha ha, so long as the staff know their stuff - your shopping experience would be as good as mine. :)

Used to the prices, and IS there a difference between HD and before? I could never tell a difference

There are very few games I'll get on release day anymore. The only one I can think of is Soulsilver.
Otherwise I'll wait until it's below $30.

Prices for games haven't changed since the dawn of gaming. If you adjust for inflation, we are paying roughly the same price now as we did for a NES cart back then.

With the notable exception of PS3. I sound hypocritical trashing BluRay - considering I own about 20+ PS3 games - but those disks are not fucking worth $60. But of course, I have to remind myself that I'm paying by unit and not by volume.

Its not what you are paying for is worth. Its how much you are willing to pay. Therfore too much.

Oh, there's some things I wouldn't do for cheaper games. Flirting with blokes is one of them.

With apologies to Meatloaf: I'd do anything for cheaper games, but I won't do that. :D

I've always wondered what what he meant by that. I think you just figured it out.

Yes... I can walk into a game store and the games even second hand are over £15. Sometimes i think its rediculous. I dont have much money, but i love my computer games. If i choose to buy them second hand then £1-£15 is reasonable depending on the game, but over?? No way! Especially for games that have been out for ages.
