I don't like to pay as much for games as I do, but it's still not over priced. If you look back in gaming history and prices you'll see pretty low prices when games originally launched, though they're high now since they're rare. What is the main difference from then and now?
If you read the credits you'll see a lot more names on the newer games than a lot of the old games, some of the old games have a list that's so short there's no need to scroll down to see all the names. Now there are so many names they have to make an ending theme song to play so we wont turn off the console... on some old games that's what we had to do anyway...
It's a lot more expensive to make games these days, but technology still makes them cheaper than I can remember Nintendo 64 games. With the 25% purchase tax over here I had to pay almost 140 USD for all the games I had, except for a few that I got cheaper, but none less than 80. Now I pay a lot less because they use digital discs of some sort. Now I pay less than half of what I used to do in average. I do import some games and avoid some taxes, but still with the taxes I would be saving at least 50% compared to Nintendo 64 and the time of games on a cartridge.
