I love cats. Simple because they give the best illusion of having a personality of their own. Which to me makes them much more interesting than dogs.

illusion? what makes a cats personality any less "real" than that of humans or any other animals? EVERY animal has its own personality, even bugs who spend their whole life working!

dude, i have 4 cats! you could paint them all black and somehow make them the same size and i could still tell them appart in a heartbeat! you can give me your genius counter arguement of "you're wrong" all you like, but as a friend of mine once accurately pointed out, we are not some super magic gods umong mice, we are animals just like cats and dogs and we ALL have personalities, not illusions

Considering I have 4 cats, I'd go with cats.

I've also had some reptiles, insects and arachnids over the years. Leopard Geckos, Day Geckos, a multitude of tarantulas, scorpions, a giant african millipede, a couple of rats, etc.

Dogs have this horrible pack mentality and will walk all over you if you show weakness (aka weakness in their mind is petting them and letting them sit on you and pretty much taking care of them in any way, which is necessary)

Cats are independent and secure in their superiority over you, thus don't feel the need to attach strings to their love. If a cat is sleeping on you it's because the cat wants to sleep on you end of story. No hidden dominance bs like you get with a dog.

I prefer cat over to dog since I would hate to take a dog out for a walk all of the time (I more of a indoor guy).

i agree, i am more than a cat person as i grew up around cats, i only have had 1 or 2 dogs in my life, the main reason why i love cats is because they are highly affectionate playful and they can look after themselves.

dogs are aggressive, heavily reliant on you as a owner, need constant walks and a few dogs have attacked me also so i am always wary of dogs now.

Both. I love all sorts of animals, for different reasons. Dogs are great when you're feeling energetic and want to go do something; cats are great when you're feeling mellow and want to kick back and relax.

And don't be fooled by the stereotypical "all dogs are X and all cats are Y" bit. There's a wide variety in each species, and sometimes some overlap. My family owns a terrier mix who thinks he's a cat; he jumps like a cat, but he lands like a dog. And my former roommate owns a cat who thinks she's a dog; you can do just about anything to her, pick her up and hold her in the air or push her on her back across linoleum floors, and she'll purr right through it all because she loves being paid attention.

Dogs are the best, I wouldn't give up my dog for anything. Cats are just basically the animal version of soccer wives. Only interested in your possessions but not in you.

Dogs are much more friendly and loving.

This one time a dog bit my dog in the neck.
I kicked it till it flew away!

A few weeks after that the same dog tried to bite me.
My dog promptly headbutted the dog till it rolled!

No cat will ever do that for you.

I have known three or four good cats, and that is it. Dogs on the other hand... I love taking dogs out for a walk. I know it is against the man laws, but I love cute little dogs like Benji:

I guess I'm a cat person since I have four cats right now. I'd have a dog, but my landlord says no dogs (I've had dogs in the past, but they didn't last too long). I want a dog, but it just can't happen now.

I'd love to say both cos i love cats and dogs, but i'm forced to say neither due to being very allergic to both of them... and chocolate... and eggs... and bananas... and ALL E-numbers, additives, colours (shut up spell check, thats the right spelling goddamnit!!! i'm english alright!!!) and preservatives in food. and most sweets... i hate my allergies...
