Prefer dog most likely because I am allergic to some cats, not all. I also find dogs are much more fun whilst cats really don't do anything.

I am a plant person. My cacti never tip over my trashcan. My philodendron never keeps the neighbors up. And my buddha belly bamboo has yet to shit on my floor.

Plants are so much better than the silly animals everyone seems so taken with.

I have 4 cats and a dog (and fish...and vampire crabs) so I would say both. I prefer the independence and means to show affection of cats while liking dogs for their fun company.

...and because they each look cute in their own way.

However birds are the best

Yes, emotional reciprocation is highly overrated.

OT: Dog person, for roughly the same reason as my sarcastic response to Kpt. Rob implies.

Both I suppose since I've had both as pets over the years.I currently have none. While I would consider getting another dog I will probably never get another cat though

A can person? Yes. Definately a can person...

Cats are awesome. Dogs are fucking annoying.
THIS THREAD [http://www.cracked.com/article_19007_6-reasons-kittens-suck-learned-while-raising-them.html] literally had me crying with sympathetic laughter.
That was awesome. You've gotta love Cracked.

Luckily, my cat handled raising her own kittens. She tought them to use the litter-box on her own even.

Cats definitely, they are so cute and fun to play with. And they are low maintenance and don't bark for hours and annoy the crap out of you. If they make noise (meowing) then they have a specific reason like being hungry, wanting to play, attention, they are in pain, etc.

Dogs. they are actually awake and energetic when you are, and they know to be careful with their huge claws.

I'm somewhat scared of dogs, and have had quite a few cats over the years. I suppose that would put me in the latter group.

Also, dogs need to be washed often because they stink, and then locked up because they like to roll in crap after their ablutions.

I'm most definitely a cat person. I generally find them to be cuter, and their mannerisms amuse me, besides the bonuses of not having to walk them, wash them, etc. I like dogs too, but I get kind of nervous when I see how excitable some of them get, and I hate the whole slobbering thing. They can smell, too.

Fluffy kitties are teh bestest. <3

I do have a dog, but I've never cared for them. IMHO they're smelly and loud. Cats are only smelly in winter when they can't go outside, so they poop on the floor.

But anyway, I'm a cat person.

Ooooh, I love cats!
I wish I could have one as a pet again.
I miss Mika ;~;
But I'll never forget him, or my other cats <3

Why do you have a dog if you don't care about them? That sounds mighty irresponsible.

I'm definitely a dog person. Not even the best smelling cat could ever beat the companionship provided by a loyal friendly dog.
