and to be honest, i'm looking at the games I have right now, and none of them have any homosexuals in them. Unless you count fable 2...

Yep i'm male and gay, and I've loved playing video games since I was a kid. But I'm not the stereotype flaming homosexual, just a normal guy that happens to like other guys.

Personally I do think that the homosexual community is not shown enough in video games, but I understand the hesititation to put us in, because if you characterise the gay character the wrong way you could bring about quite alot of ire from the community, and it's hard to point out that someone is gay without making them overly camp, and making it not obvious would bring about lots of confusion to the players when the secret is eventually told.

By the way, the low amoung of people saying yes in the poll could be because some men and women are not comfortable outing themselves online for all to see.

actualy i would say is easier to come out online, after all they are fairly anonymous most of the time

I have nothing against gays, having several gay friends over the years, yet I'm not sure I could play as a gay character in a game. Especialy if the game revolved around a love interest. Even if said character is female.

With that said, my main character in FallOut 3 is female, based off my fiance, and I did flirt with Bittercup, so... ummm... yeah.

edit: thinking back, I did have romantic speaches with fellow male guildmates, but that was only to make people feel embarrassed, ackward, or for a laugh. Plus I loved those guys!
