I like a lot of genres, but the three I really can't stand are: Pop, Rap and R&B.

I might have been more open-minded about them if I didn't have to hear all three blasted in my ears almost daily. I blame the radio for making me less sure that Pop can be any good, and the chavs in my class for making me %100 sure that R&B and Rap is %99.999 utter crap.

In short: Yes, I suppose I am.

I don't have a wide taste in music but I wouldn't say i'm narrow minded, because I don't shun any type of music (with the possible exception of that screamo emo stuff). I always keep options open and i'll give anything a try.

Mostly I like Pop and R&B and Dance music. But I also like some rock, and soul.. etc.. Mostly I gots a pretty girly/gay taste in music, my fave singers being Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera. But yesterday I downloaded some Iron Maiden tracks. So yeah i'm not that narrow minded ;]

Yes I think I've convinced enough people that I am not narrow minded when it comes to music.

My first love always has been underground Rap/Hip Hop, but it can spread as far as nu metal, fusion, heavy metal, reggae, country, drum n bass, indie, nerdcore, Alternative, classical (although recently I have been listening to more Myleene Klass than anything else, who gives a more modern feel to classical music) etc.

I think maybe some people should look past the Lil Wayne's and the fiddy cent's and not think they represent the entire genre, maybe take a look at Nerdcore Hip Hop, it may well appeal to some of you, as they cover a lot of things that people on the escapist like.

P.S. Classical Gas is godlike and so is Mason Williams. Who agrees?

I'll give most anything a shot and enjoy many, many genres. Rock, Dance, Electronica, Classical, and Folk to name a few. The only thing I refuse to listen to is hip-hop and R&B, I really dont enjoy those genres. I dont mind rap so much and I listen to a bit of Eminem and Fort Minor.
Good choice with Fort Minor, but there are better artists and groups out there, just not so much in the public eye.

Personally I am not attracted to music that isn't melodic, since it tends to disorganize my thoughts. Therefore as a general rule I avoid things like metal and rap, though I don't know if that makes me narrow-minded.

There's melodic stuff in metal as well. I don't know if it just sounds melodic to me because I've been a metalhead for a while now, but give some of it a try. For example, Helloween. It's cool. :p

I guess I am, though I'm still diverse. I pretty much refuse to listen to really gangsta rap and country, but other than that, I listen to a whole bunch.
Man Man to Wumpscut to Emilie Autumn to Nightwish to The Cure to Lily Allen to Amon Tobin to..yeah.
Busdriver is pretty good, though, and I've gotten a couple modern pop songs stuck in my head, shamefully.

That's true. Sometimes I go to karaoke with my friends, and by doing so I've found a few metal songs I liked (since they listen to metal). Still I think that the instrumentals kind of overwhelm me sometimes.

im pretty broad minded, i'll listen to most things. but as with all things, there is stuff that i dont really like. tends to be specific groups or singers rather than a whole catagory

Not really. I try to give most music a chance, and I won't make fun of other people for listening to something different (most of the time >_>). However, I won't try to choke something down if I don't like it. If the music doesn't give me a good first impression, I'm not going to force myself to listen to it till I like it or even pretend to like it for the sake of the opinion of others.

Ramen! I lived with a screamo band, and they thought they were good, when in fact, they are absolute shit. Also, they are assholes, but that's besides the point.

Also, if you want to listen to actual good rap/hip-hop (I'm not sure the exact genre), check out Blackalicious and Black Sheep. Intelligent lyrics that are, wow, coherent and can be understood because they aren't slurred by retards with nothing to say.

I don't consider myself narrow minded when it comes to music. I like good music, I like to understand any type of music if it has soul in it. A good rhythm doesn't always make good music, like most of the modern pop music.
At my heart there is the jazz, rag-time, a little blues maybe. The Inkspots, I never experienced something so deep and true as their songs. The Mills Brothers, Louie Armstrong, Louis Prima, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Al Martino, Django Reinhardt, Glenn Miller...and way too many to mention now.
I really like some classical music, I usually get bored at the operas, but pieces like Ride of The Valkyries, Sabre Dance, Grieg's Peer Gynt suite and many more... that is pure beautiful music.
Past the 50's, I love the Rock&Roll, some Disco and Funk, some hard rock, some new indie stuff. It depends on my mood really, when I don't relax on jazz I even like some vigorous rock, or some trance music. I always try to appreciate the good parts in every form of art, music, movies or games. So no, I don't think I'm narrow minded with music.

I only really hate all this Indie and the majority of the Emo and "Hip Hop" or Rap or RnB or whatever the shit all the morons on the street listen to.

Most people are surprised to see Dolly Parton / Tom Jones / Elton John among all my metal and punk.

The only music I will say that I actively dislike is the stuff that is in the British charts right now, minus the Kings of Leon, other than that I will give pretty much anything a try.
