I'm surprisingly well accepted, now that I've started my first year in uni. In high school I was a bit of an odd character, but now I'm really appreciated. It's really great!

Depends on which circle I'm in at the time. Some circles yes, others a huge resounding no.

I grunt at people, small children are afraid of me, I shout at activists on the street and I openly support the separation of church and state (yes, we are still medieval in those terms in Finland). So that would be a big no.
Finland doesn't have seperated church and state?
No. It's a sort of "church of state" thing. 84% of people are members of the church, but hundreds leave every day. Laws considering religion are really outdated. In schools, kids have compulsory religion lessons, in the (compulsory)army, recruits swear alleginace to the flag, fatherland and god.(if they are members of the church)

However, young finns are fed up with this, and Finland is actually one of the most atheistical countries in the world. Over 3/4 of young people say they want the church to leave regular people alone. It's just the laws that are from the 19th century. Older people can be very religious. The parliament won't dare to change the laws in fear of deeply christian old ladies with ginormous handbags.

That sucks. Good luck. Here in America the best we can do is try to pretend they are seperate.

To those not caring - start. We are a social species, and you only harm yourself by neglecting the social aspect of existence.

Humm.. Good question.

I guess I don't care enough to worry about whether people think i'm hot, nerdy, etc.

I'm going to say yes, why? well if I felt I had to justify my choice then it'd be clear that I want acceptance rather than actually having it.

So I'll leave it at that.

I'm Socially accepted with the right group of people, most people are I think, I've just started my third year at college this week I came in with no one I'd seen before and was a bit nervous at first with no one there but well now I'm socially accepted in the class by everyone, I tend to make friends easy there's actually a trick to making friends easy, You don't be a dick to them, you find something there that you can relate to with them and even those who aren't as accepted by the rest (you know those that sit in the corner with no friends) I try and include them in with as much as the more socially accepted people instead of making fun of them, in fact I aim to include them in more then other so they don't feel left out.

I am accepted by those people whose opinions matter to me. If someone doesn't accept me the way I am, screw them.

I tend to be more on the introverted side, though.
