I don't know if he should have been banned, but damn is he stupid. You don't send an abusive letter to the freaking head of state of any country and expect them to be like "oh lol come right on in". Or at least you shouldn't. A critical letter is one thing, but if, as this guy seems to have done, it's basically "lol ur a fag", yeah, something should happen to you.

Also, this lightened an otherwise sub-par day.

glad : P

I think people are misunderstanding the situation here.

Sure, he has the right to think and say what he wants about the president, or indeed any official.

It's just sortof...I dunno, RUDE to send them an e-mail about it.

It's like if I said that I hated Kevin Baugh of Molossia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_of_Molossia] and then sent him an e-mail describing how much I hated him, and a thing or two about how I'd express it.

And that's terrible. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Ptitle643yzv8u?from=Main.AndThatsTerrible]

Keep your mouth shut and your opinions to yourself, then everyone's happy.

Say all you want, I like that he is banned. He shouldn't come here anyway if he directly assaults our president. Its ok not to like him, hell I don't think he is the best president, but he directly insulted him.

So a nation that guarantees the freedom to say what we please restricts a man who speaks his mind? Hypocritical.

Love how Obama acts nice on camera but we can clearly see the man doesn't have a sense of humor. Had that been me I'd have been laughing my ass off, then I would invite the man to have dinner with my family in the White House.

People should learn what parts of speech are actually protected under "free speech" before making criticisms about it.

Vulgarities, slander and threats are not protected.
However giving the finger to a cop, totally legal, no seriously a guy did that to every cop he saw and he never got in trouble.

I like that idea, but it's fantasy. If this guy really wanted to kill me, he could. He had guns, but he knew I lived in a gun heavy area too. He would probably block off the exists and light my house on fire, at least that's what I would do.
Maybe I would get lucky and he would be too dumb to think of that.
Well, this isn't the old west, and blocking the exits to someone's house tends to make noise. Ya know? You're on the right track though, thinking of his moves first, is the way to stay alive. Of course, this whole conversation is fantastical, but I've always been of the mind that in a situation where my life is on the line, I'd rather not hinge my fate on waiting for the cops to get there, to make sure I'm safe. Having a plan for the interim is pretty important. Always have an out, and always have some kind of knife handy. Knives are utilitarian first and foremost, but also a small form of protection. Again, hypothetically speaking, since I know my house better than some would-be killer, I'd wait in a place that gives me an opening/element of surprise. Just because they have a gun, doesn't necessarily mean it's all over. It probably does, but...it's not 100% certain lol.
Derelix is suffering from Last Man On Earth syndrome like in World War Z, let him be.

I don't think that it's at all fair, but I do find it hilarious that someone was basically permabanned from America for abusive language.
wow, now that you mention it like that, that's horrible

horrible horrible horrible

wow, the government can't punish people for saying anything, even to the president (heck ESPECIALLY to the president). You should be able to say whatever you want to the president without any fear of reprisal from the government.. might get a punch in the mouth from a "patriot", but the government should have no jurisdiction over speech.
I believe the applicable term here is "Double standard".
Also interesting:
One prez gets fired for having an affair, in his office. Another wipes his ass with his country's ideals and nothing happens.
Which president was fired over an affair again?

And the fun thing about this country is that you've got many different people with many different ideals. Bush Jr. has done more to wipe his ass with this countries ideals than Obama ever has from my perspective. COUGH PATRIOT ACT COUGH.
There was no president fired over an affair. Technically having an affair isn't against the law but it can be brought for damages in civil court. So it's perfectly fine to be an adulterer and president. Just don't plan on reelection.

Bill Clinton was in hot water for unrelated reasons.

Actually I lived in a trailer and it was a small community towards the woods so gunshots were pretty common and it would be pretty easy to block all the exits and stand guard to shoot anyone who goes out the window.

I like the other thing. In the house I live in now, There's enough room to stand behind the door when somebody comes in. His first instinct would be to check the nearby bathroom or check the house since the hallway near the door is wide enough to get a good view of anybody coming in but small enough to sneak up on somebody who just came in. While he is checking either spots I could cut his neck with a knife or get the gun away from him and squeeze his neck until his heart stops.
Nice thoughts but the opportunity probably won't present itself.

nice thoughts u say,hm.

So what, our President's a sensitive little emo kid who smacks a guy with the banhammer just for talking bad to him?

Oh my god, is this site full of people that think the president runs the FBI and CIA?

(if you hate "nutty conspiracy" talk, read no further)

If that was the case, JFK would probably be alive still.
So, those people in suits decide to ban a college student from ever coming to the US, instead of finding the people who are actually dangerous?

My point is, whoever made this call is way too sensitive. Anyone who's truly a threat, won't waste time putting it into words.

"Don't you go judging me, now."

i wouldnt call it judging you, i understand having to simulate defensive measures in my head also, however i would not describe that necessity as "nice thoughts" no offence was meant : P
