Portal 2 was a great game, and i loved the Co-Op, but the problem is that it's a puzzle game.
Now i say that because with the Portal 2 type puzzle games, it's the same thing every playthrough, you don't have anything to change that. Co-Op was AMAZING the first time through, but all the was lost on the second playthrough, becuase it's the same playthrough. Yahtzee put it best, when playing with a new person, either you're going to be angry for carrying the newbie through, or the newbie will get angry because you keep solving all the puzzles.

I think Deus Ex is a good contender, and i feel that some of the negative feelings come from the fact that it didnt live up to the original, but you need to stop comparing it to a game made 6+ years ago, and compare it to all the games made THIS year.

My favourite game so far this year has to be The Witcher 2, though I presume Gears 3 will instantly dethrone it from my top spot.

Deus Ex and Portal 2 were good and all, but The Witcher 2 really takes the cake for being something completely different from what I usually play and remaining enjoyable while also being intensely difficult.

My favorite game this year (so far) is Tropico 4.
Oh, sorry, I meant to say Trrrrropico! 4. Being El Presidente is fantastic and the voice acting and campaign is very entertaining.
When I finish the campaign I'll pick up some of the community made map packs and continue with my reign as El Presidente!

Why is Dead Space 2 on the list?
Because its a damn good game?
But the game was available for only a few minutes!
It went public this(?) weeek! You can't judge it like that.
Other prominent games could take its place, like.. urm... Trrrropico 4!

If you were trying to make a funny, I'm sorry, but it just went right over my head.

I loved Deus Ex: Human Revolution, even more than Portal 2 which I was convinced that I thought that would be the best game of the year. This has been a damn good year as far as games are concerned.

As far as pure fun goes? I'd probably say Space Marine. It's really, really fun.

Duke Nukem Forever.

Ha! no really, Portal 2. I like physics puzzles more than level grinding and a way-too-serious Phoenix Wright knock-off. Naturally, LittleBigPlanet 2 comes in a close second, and Dead Space 2, well... meh.

From Dust... No

Deus Ex HR
No its OK. From Dust is an excellent game. Hope we get some DLC soon. My choice was Portl 2. The puzzles where challenging and made me feel really good whenever I completed one. CO-OP was fun as hell as well.

Wow, wasn't expecting the most repetitive and lackluster game that simply had exploding bodies everywhere to ever be considered "fun".

Space Marine.

My favorite thus far has been Space Marine, although I plan on trying out Eye soon as well. It's not the best in terms of lore. You play as the Space Marines, the lamest chapter at that, but it's been a hell of a lot of fun.

I've played all the games on the list except LA Noire, but I've seen friends play it and I can say Human Revolution wins handily.

Witcher 2 is respectably close and Dragon Age 2 at least deserves a nod, but Human Revolution it is. Though its possible I'm a tad biased due to my love of the DX series.

Catherine for me. Portal 2 is a solid, solid game but ultimately I enjoyed Catherine more.

I haven't played Deus Ex: Horizontal Rondo, Dead Space 2, Pokemon, LittleBigPlanet 2 or The Witcher 2, admittedly.

It was fun. I don't need to justify it any other way than that. Combat was solid and I particularly like the Warhammer universe. Sue me.

Warhammer universe is great but like mostly every Warhammer game it was average at best.

Lackluster plot, cliches, no real "Warhammer feel" so much as just hack and slash and shoot, and outside of the theme there was little, plus not much of the unique Warhammer feel or theme even.

It was a poorly balanced game.
