Probably the umpteenth person who picks Shadow of the Vampire. Though The Fearless Vampire Killers, and Mr Vampire (Chinese) hold special places in my heart.

Not sure if it's been done, but I think they all suck. Hoho, yes, I went there.

I'm not a huge fan of vampire films in general, the whole supernatural bollocks doesn't appeal to me that much. "Daybreakers" held my attention for a while and "Van Hellsing" had something for me, but I'm generally not a fan.

There are many vampire movies which belong on that poll, one of my personal favourites is Van Helsing.
Also, as an added bonus, Van Helsing has the best werewolves I have ever seen in a movie of that kind. They don't have tails, but they're bipedal badasses with a wolven face, and that fact alone makes the movie awesome.

As for the vampire part, all the vampires could turn into giant humanoid bats and pretty much everyone was afraid of them, which is what you should expect from a bloodsucker.
Also, Kate Beckinsale, ftw.

And on that note, Underworld.

*EDIT* Damnit, ninja'd.

Right now I'm going to have to go with Daybreakers. Amazing movie. Have just seen it and I have to say it's really, really good.

(Escape to the movies episode of Daybreakers: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/1368-Daybreakers )

Blade Trilogy.

If you're going for more recent ones, I'd say Daybreakers.
You said trilogy but i'm sure there were only two films made in that series

Dracula Dead and Loving It should be on the list. Mel Blanc and Leslie Nielsen make an awesome comedy team.

Even though it isn't a film ('tis a show), Being Human.

I don't really like any of the above films (I don't care for the whole "well it was good when it was made" stuff). Probably The Lost Boys for it's corny awesomeness.

There are other vampire films I kinda liked but am ashamed of liking, such as Daybreakers and Underworld 2 or 3 (can't remember).

Twilight and Interview are the only good vampire movies that i have ever seen. The fact that there has never truly been a "great vampire flick" is the reason I choose those two.
