I donate blood regularly. I did it last week in fact. I?m also a registered organ donor, allowing anything being taken after my death, without my family?s consent.

I'm totally fine with people taking my organs after I'm dead. I'm certainly not using them anymore, and they can help many other people.

I can't donate blood though, I pass out just giving samples for blood tests. (Not from hemophobia.)

I went with the last one although it isn't quite right.

I don't give blood because I am prohibitted from doing so under blood donation rules due to past sexual activity.

I am a tissue doner for non-research purposes.

Sure your not too small for that?

OT: I'll give blood regulary, and when I die they can take what they want from me. Except my eyes.

Gives me the creeps. Leave my eyes alone.

Been a regular blood donor for about 15 years now. After death, I'll probably donate my body to a medical school.

I will donate blood but I'll have to wait now as I've recently had a few piercings and am planning on a tattoo.

Nope. I hate needles. Won't go near them. Not an organ donor because I hate paperwork.

o_O What paperwork? They just ask you if you want to be an organ donor on your driver's license. You say, or mark "yes" and that's the end of it.

Sure, it's a satirical film, but think for a moment about the underlying point it's making - in many places, if doctors do see that you're an organ donor, they may potentially be more tempted to let you die so they can use your organs elsewhere to save someone else...
They aren't allowed to. Organ donation is only considered AFTER the patient has been declared dead/brain dead.

I believe it's part of the Hippocratic Oath, but don't quote me on that.

I'll get back to you after I talk to my sister in law (she's a doctor).

EDIT: Talked to my sister-in-law. I was right, organ donation is only considered post mortem. In fact, the transplant team are not the same people trying to save lives in surgery, so there is no conflict of interest.

You forgot to add the "No, I can't for legislative reasons" option, or rather the "No, I can't because the Australian government doesn't accept fag blood no matter how provably clean it is" option.
Right on! This is the reason I don't give blood too.

I am a registered organ donor though. Take anything you want when I'm gone; I don't need it.

I donate blood, and I'm of the same theory as my parents. If we're dead (hence not using them) and someone else can make use of us, then by all means.

The fact remains though, that the decision to donate your organs is still refusal of your next of kin in the event of your death, regardless of how many times you've signed the organ donor register. That basically just lets the doctors know its okay to ask.

A- vintage 1991 in this bottle. ;)

Used to donate in high school, you had to be over 16 or 17(with legal consent from a guardian I believe, but I may be wrong, it's been like 3-4 years) because my High School used to run a blood drive, few hours off school and free chocolate, it was awesome.

And if I was to somehow die, my organs would be up for grabs, not like I'm gonna need them, better than letting them rot in the ground.

I donate blood every now and then, and my organs will be donated in the case of my death. When I agreed to be a donor, I don't remember anything about specific organs.

I've got my donor card (the back of driver's license here in the states) filled out. The hardest part I find about donating blood is how draining it is (har har har) when I have to be so physically active all the time.

This sums it up quite nicely. I am just lazy like that.

I haven't donated blood because I'm lazy and I'm not an organ donor because I'm.... lazy?

Why can't they just have it as standard to take you're organs when you die and if you want to be a selfish bastard and keep they you have to get off you're arse and fill out the paperwork.

This sums up exactly why I never want to donate organs.
"excuse me sir, I heard you have an organ donor's card?"
"yeah, thats right..."
*doctor pulls out a shotgun*

90% of people are in favour of donation and only 4% actaully have a card (UK statistics).
