I know I'm prolly gonna get kicked in the teeth for this, and I do want to give U2 a try as soon as I know someone with a PS3, but I found that the RTS battles in BL were pretty easy even on Brutal difficulty :S

I'm not trying to gloat or anything but I'm just wonder why you guys had a hard time understanding the whole mechanic of the RTS elements, I mean yeah sure they're not the most enjoyable parts of the game and I usually found myself driving around for ages on end and listening to songs I didn't even know existed but yeah, without sounding bigheaded or like a douchebag, how come you guys honestly found it difficult?

P.S, Cathederal sucks if you don't know what you're doing :<

Since you'll be getting both a coin-toss is the only way to decide this. Plus whenever people make threads like this, usually they already have their minds made up, so you tell us.
actually ive found that when you tell someone a choice, they instantly go for the other one
theres probably a psyciatric thing about it, like single decision deficit
OT: well i have a 360, so theres only one choice for me, br(how do you do that u thing?)tal legend

Uncharted 2 is Epic, Brutal Legend is fucking metal, and they both are one of the most awesome games I've played.

Make sure that you come back in about I dunno, 10 years, maybe I'll have two kids. Then you can ask me which one is my favorite.

BRUTAL LEGEND!

Seriously, get it.

Its longer, funnier, is the most Metal game ever AND you get to cut people in half with an Awsome battle axe, as well as blow them up with a magic guitar. Can't go wrong with that.
All of this is true, but the RTS battles are very, very annoying and fiddly.
I try to forget those even happen.
aw, c´mon. they are not even full blown rts-battles. i agree that it´s fiddly but the battles are way too easy and there is no tactic beside get fan geysirs one by one and rush the opponents stage, so it doesn´t really matter. in the end all you have to do is spy a little and spawn new units every once in a while.

I don't even own a PS3 and I say get Uncharted. Brutal Legend isn't all that great gameplay wise. Sure the story and the actors are great but the gameplay is something to be desired. Having to sit through the same rythym game or QTE (whichever you want to call it) just to do the simplest thing like cap a resource point or summon a car is annoying. Not having some sort of hp bar is just sad. You don't know if you are about to die til you are pretty much dead. And I have fallen off so many cliffs now simply because the ground just ends with no real warning that I just no longer have any urge to explore.
Cool, thanks for that description. I was afraid the metal fans would fail to mention this kind of stuff.
I am a huge metal fan and I have now TWICE had to switch Brutal legend off in frustration because it hates me.

Driving off cliffs is one thing, but stupid cheap lightning-blasting horse riders insta-killing you when all you want to do is explore the scenery gets old real quick.

The RTS parts are horribly explained and implemented and there are no proper turorials to help you deal with high end baddies. The menus are beyond fiddly.

The guitar solos are annoying because if you try and play the offensive ones the enemies gang up and kill you before you even finish them.

Guys, I can't be the only one who found this game frustratingly tough, can I?
Yes even the beginning menu is horrible. It took me 5 minutes to find the bloody RTS battles. I thought I would have to beat the game to unlock them. And yes I am with you on the difficulty. Last night I was exploring when from behind this herd of motorcycle boar hybrids just raped me. I didn't even get a chance to attack before I was reloading (just to have to play the god damn summon car song for the septillionth time).

I think the biggest problem is there is to many different game mechanics. You have a sandbox, hack n slash, rts, rythym, driving and Overlord type game mechanics in one game. None of which were perfected (or even close). And the ambush side missions are just plain wrong. They are just a waste of disc space. I am dreading the racing sidequests. The hunting ones are a yawnfest. They are only worth doing because of the hunter himself (I like that guy, he is a great actor).

Oh and I almost forgot to mention the AI will cheat in "stage battles". For resource gathering you need to build these booths on top of geysers. If you get to a geyser and there are enemies around it will be red and you can't build on it. If on the other hand you have a bunch of your units around a geyser the AI leader can still cap it.
That was a cheap shot alright. The other thing that infuriated me was that the game never explained which units were effective at countering what. It wanted you to get right into the action but punished you with instant death as soon as you did.

The races are actually pretty easy, there are some annoying ones where you can fall off the side of the world but once your car is upgraded the other dude can barely keep up with you so you have time to carefully take a few corners.

I've seen Uncharted 2 played through, and it's an exceptionally well done action movie with good (though uninspiring) gameplay. The bad part about it's basically a good Tomb Raider game or a great Indiana Jones game, and not original.

I, personally, would go for Brutal Legend based on reviews though the gameplay's a bit shakier and the music annoys me. It's something new in gaming, which is disturbingly rare.

Of course, Demon's Souls would be my top pick if it were an option...

Ya, their easy, but other than a different way to do a boss battle, theirs really no point to them. Take the worm at the begining as an example, that was a classic boss battle senario. why couldn't they do that for the whole game.

It could have just been storm general against general in the middle of the field with soldiers fighting around you instead of the RTS crap.

(don't get me wrong, I liked them but they just seemed pointless)

Brutal Legend, do it now.

Everyone complaining about the RTS sections are well... wrong.

They're awesome, the story is great, the characters are great, and the combat is great.

My only complaint is that it's pretty short.

WAIT! This isn't a 'which one should I get' kinda deal, oh no; this is more like a 'which one should I get first' kinda deal. So, yeah; Uncharted 2 or Brütal Legend? Fortune hunters or heavy metal revolution WITH JACK BLACK :O?!?!?!?!?!

Besides, you're picking which one should I get RIGHT NOW and then I'll get the other one for Christmas.

VOTE AWAY!
Dude what the hell id wrong with you. If Brutal hasn't a very nice gameplay, then it has an awesome story. But with Uncharted you get some smug racist prick going:"Uuuuh great, black people with guns." and some ripped of story or just "National Treasure II". Really, go with Brutal Legend, at it has a GOOD and funny story.

uncharted 2 because even though i havent played brutal legend uncharted 2 is great in every single point and my only real complaint is that its story is not as good as the first one but the story is still very good.......if you chose brutal legend then at least save up 20 dollars to get the first unchrted so you will actually know something about it.

Yet another exceedingly well written and accurrate review of uncharted 2 by someone who no doubtedly has not only played it, but deffinitely owns a ps3. Bravo good sir. You're absolutely right, Nathan drake is not only a racist, but a SUPER NAZI who spends his life doing nicholas cage impressions.

Whats wrong with a great Indiana Jones game? It may not be original but it still fun as hell.
