As most of you are Americans...I need to know what 12 is in American Certificates. I've seen breasts in movies that are aimed at kids 12+ so how come they're not even allowed in 18 games? I don't understand the concept.

That explains that...
I am awful with names.
I do remember avatars.

Since I don't actually know any of these celebrities, I have to judge them on physical attractiveness alone.
And in that, there are almost no attractive female celebs.
Sad indeed.

Anyway, no. Drugs are for people who can't handle their shit by themselves. I never used to use pain killers, and now I can't go a day without them.
I guess I shouldn't change my avatar again, though I will most likely do so sometime. You'll just have to be confused for a while.

I like how you suggested heroin and hookers and in the same post stated that drugs are for people who can't handle their shit. Quite amusing.

Using anti-depressants is worse than being addicted to painkillers?? I was on an anti-depressant for a few of my teen years, which dramatically helped me with my outlook on life. I was able to come off them and maintain my mental stability. I'm still extremely odd, but not horrifically depressed. Yay!
You should try it sometime. :)

I can be as contradictory as I'd like.
I am exhausted.

Just to drive the point home, I despise hookers. Male, female, both, neither, whatever, they get nothing but my utmost contempt.

...Let's go snort coke off of some!

And no, but I have no doubt that, considering family history and my own addictive personality, I'd be addicted to both anti-depressants and painkillers.

Also, why would I want to lie to myself? Life is awful.
Not only are you odd, but you are also old.

"My teen years," you say, gazing into the distance wistfully, hand clenched at your breast.

Jeez, don't break a hip.
:D

I would like to see a hooker who is neither male nor female. Actually, I've changed my mind; I don't think I'd like that at all.

Okay, so maybe anti-depressants aren't the best idea for you. Maybe some sort of virtual serotonin that downloads straight into your brain would help, instead. Good luck with that.

At the risk of sounding like some sort of demented Hallmark card, Yeah, life can be pretty shitty..... but it can also be beautiful. Considering it isn't possible to live without the shitty moments (as I found out the hard way), I've at least managed to find a balance of each. And so far, I've been content with that.

Psh, 21 isn't old. You're just young.
There was no arthritic hand clenched at my wizened, old breast, I promise you.
And I'll tell you what:
I'll try not to break my hip if you try to be careful on the jungle gym. :p

I need to stop replying to people, or my Dickens paper will never be finished.

In my original post on this thread I asked:
"Why are naked women much more likely to appear in films than nude men? And why do I keep seeing breasts referred to as "bewbs" in this thread?" (Both of which I'd still like the answer to, but will probably never get.)

Congrats on your 500. :)
EDIT: And happy birthday! I hear there's some EVE cake floating around out there, somewhere. I think you should get a piece.
Marketing probably has a lot to do with it. Now, I'm not saying they're specifically marketing towards an audience, but when you think about what it safer to slide with, appealing to a male audience is often better to bet on. Not only are men more often believed to have a much higher sex drive or need of it, but they also are more likely to view porn, masturbate, and check out girls in general. Women just don't look for that like men do, and some are downright disgusted with the thought of it.
Since we're only talking about video games at the moment, or are suppose to, it's still a very male dominated culture. They're not going to want to see what we want to see, they want to see us.

Our society just needs to grow up a little. It's probably believed that women just don't have much to show, despite the want of showing it, and that the penis is so much more.
However, if that's the case, I need to grow up too, because a penis is infinitely better than what we have.

As far as 'bewbs' go, it's people just being silly or ironic. Breasts sounds too proper.

(Whoops, forgot to thank you. It's why I left that last part in!)

And for the record, I am a female with a porn collection(not gay male porn) and photos not only of girls around my room half naked, but half and fully naked girls on my computer.
aprilmarie = loves boobs (depending on context as far as games go)
You have just become my favourite person on this site.
ummm....thanks? i guess. which reminds me i took pictures of my room to upload onto my comp and should do so.....
Hahaha. I do mean it, actually. One of my favourite female friends is a big "retro porn" collector and has lots of 1950s smut in her house, you remind me of her a little. In my experience most girls who dig female nakedness are pretty self-assured and intelligent, at least in my experience.
I'm jealous. The best I can boast is Bettie Page and Marilyn Monroe (for older type smut) and they're posters and calanders.

I wouldn't mind a bit of boobage. Why not? Even in commercials during the day boobs are shown (shyly at best, but I'm sure I've seen some nipples on the cable). They are there for kids to see. What would be wrong for a game to show them?

For example, I wouldn't have minded a nipple here and there in the infamous scene from Mass Effect. It was so dull and politically correct... So disappointing after all the media coverage.

I wholeheartedly voted yes. Not that I feel every game could benefit from the addition of nudity or toplessness, and it certainly opens up doors for gratuitous nudity as a selling point, but I certainly think there should be no restriction on this as a form of artistic expression within the confines of the game.

For example, Soul Calibur IV has destructible equipment, in which your opponent can end up topless (indeed, almost naked) if they are male, but not female. If anything, I see that as sexual discrimination. If you make a game where you have the ability to knock off a girl's top, she should be topless underneath.

Okay R and M mean the same thing 18 and older, But diffrence is you can see boobs in R movies, Now im know what your ganna say, Xbox and stuff is at home children can play it and stuff, But what about DVDs they can watch there dads dvd and still see breats. So what diffrence does it make? Now im not saying you need to run around as a striper and rubbing your breasts on everyone but some in game scences should be allowed to have them.

So whats your say on this. I agree yes VOTE PLEASE. If you say no provide a valid argument
Maybe M and R are the same in your country but in Australia R is 18+ and M is 15+.
Other than that I can see what your saying.

I'll just go ahead and bring up the delightful movie Howard the Duck here. The movie is rated PG, but breasts, though on a half-human duck, are featured. Basically - age rating is just #%?&ed.

Tits distract me, so putting them in a game would ruin for me when I fight. It fills no... function, only problems.

"Now you are gonna get it you filthy monste....hey! Boobies!"
*SLASH*
"AAAARGH! MY WANG!!!"

Yeah....

yes
cause when i go to see an r rated movie that sucks ass i can't get my money back but at least i can say "hey whats her name had a pretty decent rack". the same could go for games you could possible play a horrible game but then go talk about the breast physics on the females. Most M games come with blood, violence, and bad language so why not just throw some nippels and boobs around instead of the basic fanservice.

isn't porn like the most easily accessible media in the world? i.e. click to enter if you are over 18, if not leave site. seriously i think there are bigger issues for the naysayers to breasts in games. breasts are awesome! just thought id throw in my 2 cents :p

funny isn't it, how you never hear feminists complain about that sort of inequallity.

Oh gods I'm not even sure why I wanna respond to this. It's just gonna lead to a huge flaming debate like this kinda thing always does. One side shouts FUCK YEAH with the power of many raging teenagers who still think breasts need to be everywhere (as well as some others who just happen to really like them for reasons of their own, it varies).. and then the other side going HELL NO with the might of people with common sense and knowing that it would probably be another nail in the video game industry's coffin..

Oh what am I saying, I'm voting No hands down. The movie industry has a genre that shows tits constantly, it's called Porn. The video game industry has not quite reached that stage where it is widely known, but there is actually a genre (of sorts) out there which features nudity and breasts quite often. I believe the term is Dating Simulator. Of course, there are other random games like Leisure Suit Larry (which went over the top with the last game) GTA and other titles which will on occasion feature nudity of some kind, often edited or at least obscured.

Do breasts and nudity make a video game better? I say they do not. If I seriously need to see naked women (or nudity in general) I can watch any of a myriad of porn videos, images, or who knows what else that is readilly available to every man, woman and child on the internet through a variety of means. It's bad enough that sex and full/partial nudity makes its way into a lot of unnecessary scenes in movies (Resident Evil anyone?). The last thing I think we really need is for it to start showing up all the time in video games.

A game like Grand Theft Auto makes a fair ammount of sense to discuss it or hear/see it off-screen (or in the car, hense "see") but at least 90% of all video games have absolutely no need for such things and it would not enhance or extend the enjoyment any further. I might point out that most of that other 10% isn't even available out here, and the Japanese don't seem to be any better off with it anyways, so why should we care?

Everything else aside, no. I don't think they should be showing up constantly just because it is an M rated game. That's like saying there has to be blood and/or sex in every R rated film. Of course, that's kinda silly on the former, because it's almost always blood/gore that pushes a film into the R rating anyways these days.

Oh, and I do remember another genre of film that included sex.. I think it's called Soft Core Porn, or something. If I remember right, it's usually corny/parody style films that have lots of sex in them, but actually do tell a sort of story. I remember a rather amusing one making fun of the X-files years ago.

I think society should accept its own citizens bodies, however, I would say no. Everyone would behave like frothing 13 year olds.
Sorry, hadn't seen this. I wanted to ask.. isn't that how most guys react on this subject anyways? At least from my experience whenever this subject comes up.

Games and films are completely different though! Films are generally storyline based, and when the actor trying to save the world for the tenth time is with his supporting female character all alone together finally, sexual tension mounts up and she will inevitably take out her major boobage. Its like the law or something, it just happens.

Games just are totally different and sex becomes a totally different concept in them. In games you are in control of the character, and if said character engages in sexual intercourse or sees boobage then you are - in essence - having sexual intercourse or getting frisky with some lady. Instantly, the game becomes a virtual sex game (yes, we know it isn't actually, but you do get some stupid people).

Games aren't so much about the stories and characters in nearly all cases, its about the gameplay and taking control of your character, so the moment you start having sex in said game its basically virtual pornography.
