Since Microsoft has reversed many of the policies that most hated, do you trust them again? I'm waiting for a couple of years to see if they have anything that interests me. But for now I'm sticking with PS4 and PC for next-gen.

Option 4 has a typo. It's supposed to be They've always had my trust.

Trusting any company beyond what you have to is stupid trusting a company as huge as Microsoft is ridiculous. Companies arent people they exist for a purpose usually to make money they dont care about loyalty or trust as long as they get that money although of course they will try and use these factors in marketing to make it easier to get your money.

So no they cant regain my trust because I never trusted them in the first place beyond what I reasonably expect although in some cases I dont trust them to deliver even on that.

Trust isn't really the word I would use, but yes, I am now willing to get their console due to the changes they have made to their console.

The only game company I would explicitly trust is Platinum Games.

With their anti-PC bullshit? Never, I am just waiting for the day even PC gaming no longer needs them. When Micro$oft is gone from gaming it will be a good day for all.

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/94-Gamers-Favor-PS4-Xbox-One-According-Amazon-Poll-56705.html

I don't think 94% was the final percentage, I think Microsoft gained some of the ratio back but it was still a landslide in Sony's favor. Do statistics this small really offer insight into anything? It's debatable. Clearly they got more votes than a high school poll but perhaps Amazon users are more inclined to Sony or perhaps Sony forums got a lead on the poll before Microsoft fan forums and it closed early.

Statistics are easily bendable, but I have to say, with the amount of butthurt that was going around, I have to believe Microsoft was noticing things like this and reversed their DRM policies because they realized they wouldn't be able to get away with it and keep their effective share of the market.

I personally feel that they don't deserve to be rewarded for reversing a decision that was going to likely have a large negative impact on their sales. Anyone that thinks they "did it for the fans" and "took your feedback" well...I've got a bridge to sell you. They lost an Xbox consumer, although considering they would have made me pay $500 for a bunch of features I don't care about, I probably wouldn't have bought it anyway.

I agree with Maximum Bert though, never trust a company beyond what you have to. There's no point. The banks tried to pull the same crap a year or so ago with their checking fees and everyone told them to go fuck themselves. Even to Sony, you are just a wallet, the difference is that they at least try to hide when they want to milk you for cash.

Going on the second day of xbox live disconnection issues and unable to download the games I paid for from their service and only to hear "we are currently experiencing disconnect issues".. and have too many calls when you call 1-800-4my-xbox, and being told they have a no refund policy online even if you can't even get the games to download, I am not even sure how they expect their digital service to work. If this was the first time I had this issue and then it never happened again it would be different, but at this point, if they cannot even maintain it for 360, how do they expect to maintain it for xbox one?

TRUST. What exactly are we supposed to trust here? That they will provide the service and you will receive the stuff you pay for? Um no, that isn't their policy at all, look at what they did with zune.

Are we supposed to trust that they will not let anyone have the data they mine from the Kinect? Um no, they already stated they will use that for advertising and marketing.

Are we supposed to trust they will let us sell our games in garage sales? LMAO! you can't even download your game half the damn time, what exactly are you going to sell? Can you sell your entire xbox with everything on it and let them use that instead?

Should we trust that the hardware they sell us is solid and won't crap out on us? Looking at my 3 dead 360's here, I think not. If it were not for my 320g removable hard drive, I would have lost everything on them. So wait they decided they didn't like that you could keep your stuff when the xbox dies, so they make it so you can't take out the hard drive this time? They are going to sell us hardware where you lose everything and own nothing? Of course I should TRUST that. Why would I not? LOL

I left Microsoft products in general for Apple a couple of years ago. Microsoft isn't a part of my life (or my family's lives) and can't hurt my wallet anymore; to backslide now would ruin all my progress and the good things I've experienced since I kicked it out. On a gaming related note- all I play are JRPGs, thus the best places to get them are and always have been on Japanese consoles. Nintendo and Sony then, now, and forever more.

OP: What was the last option in the poll supposed to be? All it says is 'They'.

It's supposed to be They've always had my trust. Tried to fix it but kept saying "They."

Had a chance for a free upgrade to a Windows phone earlier this week. Decided to pay $50 for a non-Windows phone instead.

I didn't really see anything they did with the Xbox One as a reason to distrust Microsoft. I can understand dislike but for me to not trust a company or person they would have to lie to me or deceive me in some way. I disliked the always on requirement, I would have lost trust if Microsoft had tried to deceive people by saying it wasn't always on line when it had to be. They were upfront about the requirement so I see no betrayal of trust, just an honest attempt to implement something that customers overwhelmingly didn't want.

Also, I have a hard time not trusting a corporation because they are very predictable. They seek the greatest profit, I expect them to take actions to bring in more money, nothing else.

Maybe sometime in the future but not with the xbone, even with some of the worst decisions reversed its still "A console designed with advertisers in mind" rather than a console designed with GAMERS in mind and it still has a mandatory spy attachment and they could still turn back on the kinect counting how many people are in the room before letting you watch a movie or facial recognition to ensure who is playing the game and they could still turn back on the rest of the bullshit

People keep comparing it to the price of the PS3 but once Sony lowered the price they were never going to put it back up again and they CERTAINLY couldn't retrospectively make you pay the gap after you had bought it, the same cant be said for Microcrap's policies, you could buy it and in 6 months they put out a mandatory patch which puts it all back again

Release a OS for PCs and not tablets and preferably something professional rather than casual use.

For console gaming? No way. Even if it was the only console I wouldn't buy it.

Not the way they are going, they need to build an OS from unix and be consumer friendly, until then I'll stay with apple and Nintendo.

No, I cannot justify the system failures and 4 dead wireless controllers. I just can't. They lost me when they stopped caring about the long term quality of their products.

They never had my trust or my loyalty for the same reason I never had theirs. They may regain my business someday, but it's unlikely to be soon.

And honestly, with PC gaming becoming more accessible and console gaming becoming less, they may have lost me in terms of gaming. I mean, I'm still using an MS OS, but that's the extent of it.

Don't their controllers only have a 90 day warranty too?

I'm surprised they were never called out more on this. Not that people didn't let them have it over the massive system failure rate, but rather how they're always praised for the business decision of beating Sony to market by a year... but aren't these two things inherently related?

Anyways when talking about this sort of thing in a gaming environment I always find there's a bit of an age gap involved. To gamers around the age of 20, their first experience with the Microsoft brand was likely through the Xbox and they view the company in a positive light. They've also only known a Microsoft that has had real competition in Apple and Google, plus in the game industry Sony. But to those of us that are more 30+, you really need to add the poll option "Microsoft never had my trust". They're a ruthless corporation that have utilized their dominant position in the OS market to strong arm both their competition and the consumer. If you want to see a great example of something within the past 10 years just look up the OOXML fiasco and how badly they butchered the international standards board (or whatever it's called).

From my point of view the botched Xbox One reveal wasn't so much a screw up on Microsoft's part but rather an unveiling of their true selves to an unsuspecting audience. Surely they have a lot of good people in their gaming department but they still have to answer to their corporate bosses.
