I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you, they put the 'UI that was formally known as Metro' onto Windows Server 2012.TehCookie said:Release a OS for PCs and not tablets and preferably something professional rather than casual use.
yes, sure. That's why Japan's top selling consoles and games earlier this year were 3DS and Nintendo games [http://megagameshub.com/2013/04/10/console-sales-drop-in-japan-week-ending-7th-april-3ds-still-on-top/]. Because Americans are the only people ever to do that.MorphingDragon said:I never trusted Microsoft.
It's an American thing I' ll never understand, trusting faceless corporations.
The "they will like what we tell them to like" attitude is for more than just the gaming division, it seems.Ed130 said:I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you, they put the 'UI that was formally known as Metro' onto Windows Server 2012.

Yep.
I don't think that's blind trust. I think that's "buying things people want that are marketed to them."ObsidianJones said:yes, sure. Will do! Wish I would've put the option there in the first place.RandV80 said:I'm surprised they were never called out more on this. Not that people didn't let them have it over the massive system failure rate, but rather how they're always praised for the business decision of beating Sony to market by a year... but aren't these two things inherently related?Zeckt said:No, I cannot justify the system failures and 4 dead wireless controllers. I just can't. They lost me when they stopped caring about the long term quality of their products.
Anyways when talking about this sort of thing in a gaming environment I always find there's a bit of an age gap involved. To gamers around the age of 20, their first experience with the Microsoft brand was likely through the Xbox and they view the company in a positive light. They've also only known a Microsoft that has had real competition in Apple and Google, plus in the game industry Sony. But to those of us that are more 30+, you really need to add the poll option "Microsoft never had my trust". They're a ruthless corporation that have utilized their dominant position in the OS market to strong arm both their competition and the consumer. If you want to see a great example of something within the past 10 years just look up the OOXML fiasco and how badly they butchered the international standards board (or whatever it's called).
From my point of view the botched Xbox One reveal wasn't so much a screw up on Microsoft's part but rather an unveiling of their true selves to an unsuspecting audience. Surely they have a lot of good people in their gaming department but they still have to answer to their corporate bosses.
I can dream, since I know it will never happen in reality. The realist in me is hoping more games support linux.Ed130 said:I wouldn't hold your breath if I were you, they put the 'UI that was formally known as Metro' onto Windows Server 2012.TehCookie said:Release a OS for PCs and not tablets and preferably something professional rather than casual use.

Yep.
Thanks to my fathers rants about MS ever since I was was little I've always had a dislike for them.
So they never had my 'trust' in the first place.
I think you just redefined the word grudge.Roxor said:Forget the Xbone, I haven't trusted Microsoft since Windows ME.
