Sounds like the old unstoppable force vs immovable object design. Though if the force is unstoppable, then the object clearly isn't immovable, and vice versa.

I imagine the same rule applies to your knife/material dilemma.

beatcha to it

EDIT- and that viper-man beat me...
I noticed, but nonetheless, I couldn't resist the chance to create the illusion that I'm smarter than I actually am...:)

Since for example a sponge is also unbreakable, the answer is yes. I can cut an unbreakable sponge cube with pretty much a sharp knife.

Unbreakable says nothing about uncuttable.
Plus I have a warranty on the knife saying it would cut anything, and a bla bla bla cube IS a part of that collection of random objects.

I got it!

The cube is an object comprised of nothing. Therefore you cannot break it, but you can still cut through it.

Well its unBREAKABLE, but not unSLASH-IN-HALF...-ABLE, and a knife that cuts through everything is saying it DOES cut through everything, a proven fact as it were.

Plus stop copying PW.

Nothing can be unbreakable if a "Cut through everything" knife exists.

But if something is unbreakable then the knife obviously can't cut through everything.

Stupid question to ask to be honest, there's no correct answer.

I dont know, I guess would depend on whether or not the unstoppbable force could move the immovable object.

As for the "unstoppable force moving an immovable object" question thing, the unstoppable force would pass through the immovable object. Not moving it, just going straight through it.

They both annihilate each other. Much like how a particle reacts with an anti-particle.

Isn't there an old Chinese proverb about this somewhere?
Oh, yeah. That was a good one. (I do believe it involved a merchant trying to sell an "unbreakable" shield and a "cuts-through-anything" spear, and some travelling wiseass totally screwing up his retirement plans.)

OT: Well, duh.

The knife has to cut through the box, otherwise the knife is not what it says to be, so it does not exist.

The cube must be uncuttable by the knife, otherwise the cube is not what it says to be, so therefore it does not exist.

The only logical answer is that the cube and knife do not exist.

The presence of an uncuttable substance contradicts the presence of a knife that can cut through anything. The presence of a knife that can cut through anything contradicts the presence of an uncuttable substance. This thread is impossible and therefore does not exist.
