Yes, when I was young, my mum forced me to swim in the public swimming pool. I hated it, but now I can swim quite decently so I have my mum to thank for that.

I was born in Australia so... yes. Short of massive physical or intellectual disability I think we pretty much all can swim, and even then many disabled people can. Anyone here born in Aus that can't swim? Just curious. Course there's plenty of people who've come here as adults who can't (including my girlfriend).
I learned to swim at a young age, it was just something my parents and school taught me. Every other week or so, I think, we'd pile into a coach and head off to the nearest commercial pool to have lessons.
I can swim well enough to know how bloody hard it is to swim in clothes; I also scuba dive, but that isn't really swimming at all.

I cant swim at all. Well okay I can float for about... six seconds, but that's about it.

Yeah, I can swim, and I must have learnt when I was 8/9. My school gave us swimming lessons as there's a big ass river near where I live, so we could theoretically save ourselves if we fell in.
As for quality, I'd say I'm all right. I could be better, but I could be worse.

Yes, and I'm quite good at it if I say so myself, I never had a trainer but my dad used to take me to a swimming pool every week, and I quickly learnt myself, I can tread water for ages and I can float indefinitely. Riding bikes though? That's another story.
Well, I live in Australia, so the last thing I want to do is expose my body to the excess Ultraviolet radiation. So, I CAN swim, but I wouldn't be able to beat you in a race, James.

my grandparents had a yacht he built in a barn next to the Tamaki River and every summer they would take us out to one of the islands in the Hauraki Gulf where my brother and i would swim off the boat and you would never touch the bottom so we had to learn how to swim since like 2 or 3 years old last time i was out on it i remember swimming right under it im no Olympian but im not bad at swimming
I taught myself to swim at the age of 4. It's a family thing. Everyone that I'm related to is a naturally strong swimmer.
It took me a long time to learn how to swim. I think I was already in my early 10's (12 or 13) when I did finally learn. Even so, I can only swim in a very basic way (frog style, although I can also do backstroke swimming) and slowly. It doesn't help that I am overweight (although I am currently working on losing weight) which additionally drags you down. So you can imagine how much "fun" I had during swimming classes...
So basically, I can swim well enough to enjoy myself in a pool or not drown if I accidentally fall into water. Anything more advanced, however, is beyond me.

I could swim since very little, but took swimming lessons around 7-8 something and perfected it.
Now I can easily swim a few kilometres, and after that it's just my poor cardio and boredom that stops me.

I can't swim. I've never really bothered trying to learn how to. Probably due to my crippling fear of deep water.
