FUCKING. ASSHOLE. OFFICIALS. They ignore fucking obvious infractions by the Americans, including a goalie interference that led to Yank Goal #3, and an American player JUMPING ON A CANADIAN PLAYERS' BACK right before the empty-net goal, BEFORE HE TOUCHED THE FUCKING PUCK. Yes, Brodeur and Crosby suck, especially Brodeur trying to play FUCKING BASEBALL, but it was mostly the FUCKING SHITTY officiating.

/end RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE
Well said but it's terrible your mod wrath will be soon :(

Sidney Crosby: the only thing Canada can get in the net. I laughed.

Anyway, I don't really care. I find the Olympics better for establishing international camaraderie; at least, it does so for some people. Canada can still get gold, regardless of how you look at it.
Then they should'nt make goals count. What did the Canadian woman's team do to their first team? 18 to nothing or something like that? Otherwise it could have been easily 3-4 to 0 with them holding back. But if they hold back one goal that could be the difference between medal or no medal so...

ALSO RAAAAAGGEE!!! Mostly at Brodeur's showboating baseball swings, and also his decision to dive 10 FEET OUT OF HIS OWN FRAKKING NET!!! (I also love how I can use frak here without it being an embarassment) Leading of course to a goal for the US. I'm surprised they didn't put Luongo in. They may be about on par as far as skill goes, but at least Luongo would have had a brain... That last glimmer of hope at the end was nice, but I can't help but ask why we didn't play like that ALL GAME.

Bah. Well, we can still pull it off. And that being said, I've got nothing but respect for Miller. He did a fantastic job in net for US, especially considering how many more shots on net we had than the US.

I was happy! My Canadian friends and I have been teasing and ragging each other about it the last two days. It's been a lot of fun!

But! The US worked very hard and they deserved it just as much as anyone! Canada and America both have absolutely fantastic teams! Congrats to both!

Meh... we seem to do that all the time: be all disorganised, pull some amazing plays, get close or tie, then lose. Not sad for Canada, no. Not angry either. Not happy for the US. Just "meh"

Well, my feelings can be summarized in one of two ways:

1)FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

2)The United States played a fantastic game, but so did Canada - what it came down to was freaking shitty officiating (angry fan-boy scapegoating), but in all fairness, it was largely Miller completely out playing Brodeur. However, it was nice to see Miller being so classy about it after the match - I really have no hard feelings against the guy, he's clearly very humble and genuinely nice, so I feel happy for him and his team.

However, it's definitely NOT over for Canada - they only have to play one extra game in order to get into the same place the U.S. is at.... against Germany. Really, without getting into any specifics, that game should be no problem for Canada, and then we can go on to Russia. I know I'm being optimistic, but I really think Sidney Crosby should have muttered "we'll be back" once the game was over, because I have a feeling we'll be seeing the US again in the gold medal game where we'll totally KICK FUCKING ASS.

I'm surprised by how much that comment stung. Were you just being antagonistic? Or did you actually get an aura of "smug" from the Canadians?

Yeah, I do love ice hockey, we dont get too much of it over here, So im not massive on the rules.

But sufficed to say the canadians seem so[/I] sure they would trounce the Americans, There was a genuine aura of Smug. We Brits love our underdogs in sport (because we usually are ourselves).

The Americans just dominated until about 1/2 way through the 3rd.

Well damn... Canada is famous for one sport and we lose at it against the U.S.
technically, our main sport is lacrosse. that sport is not covered because its too dangerous. last time we played americans, (the first time they played lacrosse) a player died. or so i hear from some of my lacrosse die hard fan friends.

That makes me feel pretty good, considering a third of our country never has any snow.

That game was all Miller taking names. Tough break for our neighbors to the north- not a very great Olympics for them so far.
