Not very often, in fact, sex appeal in games for me is most often a bonus, something sparse that I probably did not originally know was going to be there at it's best, and like most of the "sex appeal" games out there so over the top with sex that I found it disgusting at it's worst. I like sex better if it's treated as more of a here and there thing in games as a reward for doing something, not as the core of the entire game itself and the only thing it has to stand on.

I love how generally full of carp this thread is. I bet the guys who do all sorts of market research find threads like these HYSTERICAL. "Hey Joe, here's another one that says he doesn't care about sex appeal. Course, he wouldn't have even clicked on the thumb for the trailer if it didn't have a pretty girl on it. Hilarious."

Never. Not once.

I get plenty of female interaction (and, yes, eye candy) in meatspace, so don't need to look for surrogate, and near-literal, sex objects.

Never, I'm not 13 years old.

It's nice to see attractive female characters but it wont influence me in any way whatsoever

I don't think I have ever bought a game due to the sex appeal.
I have however played one due to questionable content that was sexual, but that was more or less out of curiosity because I didn't believe it existed.

The game was RapeLay, by the way.

Sex appeal is never the sole deciding factor in whether or not I buy a game, though it can and does influence my decisions. For instance I certainly appreciate that Bayonetta is a rather sexy character, but I love the game and bought it because it is also a great hack and slash. The problem to date with the Tomb Raider games for example is that they suck, and the only thing they have going for them is Lara Croft. No matter how sexy the next Tomb Raider is, I'll be basing whether I buy it or not on the gameplay, not Lara's boobs.

Only once, and it was a negative influence. That'd be red alert 3, looked like a alright game, but I'd be ashamed that anyone who saw me play it would think I'm some mindless drone who got sucked in by the lineup of breasts.

I don't want to play a game that makes me feel like a dirty old man. If its part of the joke(Duke Nukem) then I can get by, but if its purely added for the marketing shiz then it's just off putting.

Really because back when I was a 16 year old (straight) girl I loved the Tomb Raider games :p In game she is actually an intelligent and storng character. It's just the media that portrays her as a pin up.

I think I'd like to point out that there's a difference between aesthetics and sex appeal. I mean I'm not attracted to Lara Croft as I'm a straight woman but I like that she looks cool. You don't go and buy some ratty looking flowers then put them in your house do you.

Alot of that, somtimes subconciously, is the case rather than 'phwoar look at that guy/girl I'm gonna play that game.'

Never has and never will. However, I have bought a couple of games before because I found the box art awesome.

Oh yeah, every man snaps up anything with a beautiful women on it, they are completely hypnotized by models. No chance that some men are different, all of them are the same.

Your the only one I believe to be talking carp here buddy.

There's no option on your poll for "never" which would be my answer.

If you buy games for sex appeal you're missing the point.

Rarely, if ever. I never really had a lot of money for games when I was of the age to find video games sexy and my parents were kind of religious nazis, so purchasing a game with 'big American titties' on the front was basically the same thing as throwing the money away. Nowadays, I would like to say I am more mature and make decisions on which games to buy based off of the quality of the game/in support of a developer, but that would be lying....the internet is just free.

The only games i've bought for sex appeal alone where DOA beach volleyball and rumble roses and i hated both games. these days i just say why spend $60 on somthing just because it has boobs when you can find much better porn for free.
