I've got Dead or Alive 4, but that was because it was the only fighting game for the Xbox 360 at the time.

I love lemons! Also, no, I don't believe I ever have bought a game for that reason. But then, I'm female and way into shooters, so most of what I have to choose from as far as male characters are either ugly space marines or voiced by Nolan North (and therefore dipshits). I have maybe four games where I actually find the protagonist appealing, but their sexiness was just a bonus that I discovered after the fact.

Back when I was 13 we had to use every resource for finding sexy ladies, the kids of today have no such excuse

Never bought a game for sex appeal. Don't get me wrong, I've liked what I've seen in some games (Dragon Age, FFX, Mass Effect, Gears of War, Guild Wars) but I didn't buy them for it. Infact, I didn't even know about the attractiveness of the female characters until I was already in game.

Never....cause in most cases, when games are reduced to use sex appeal...then more often than not the game itself isnt that impressive....in fact sex appeal in games kinda turns me away from them...:(

I would imagine on a conscious level, the answer for most people would be "none".

for me, I'm pretty sure the answer subconsciously for me is none as well because almost all of my game purchases are decided months in advance. I very rarely just peruse the shelf and have something catch my eye.

The sexual blatancy of a game's marketing company almost always has a direct correlation with the quality of the game, so no, I'm not tempted by tits in this sense.

I chose the lemons option, just because i never even consider sex appeal when buying a game. It honestly has never even come to my mind, i judge games mostly by their stories and games that try to factor in sex and such tend to have horrible stories that are not improved by the addition of boobs.

And those lemons were pretty sexy....

Well, watching a pro play Starcraft actually has some kind of sex appeal to me. Apart from that, games are games and porn is porn. Should stay that way.

If you wanna jerk off, watch internet porn. If you only want to buy a game because of the nice ass on the cover, you're a moron and should be hit in the head with a tack-hammer.

I never buy a game based on sex appeal. The women in video games tend to be outrageously disproportionate and it just makes me wince. I've never bought a game for male sex appeal, either; although sometimes the eye candy is nice. Once again, though, I don't find refrigerators sexy, so disproportionate male leads do nothing for me.

If their proportions don't make me weep blood, then I do indulge myself a little :p But generally speaking if the game sucks, I won't waste my time even if it has the most epic lesbian scene ever in the history of visual media.

Because as been stated about a billion times already: Rule 34. If it exists, there's porn of it on the internet.

I'm considering buying "Catherine", and it's not just because the story and gameplay intrigue me... ;)
But that is the only example of it. So far...

Three times, and twice the decision bit me in the ass.
sounds like a good story, care to elaborate? or is it a bit too personal? in which case, i understand if ya don't wanna share.
Not a good story. The two times it bit me in the ass was FFX-2 and DOAX2. When I bought FFX-2, I still thought FFX was a "good" game, despite the fact that I would fall asleep while playing. When I bought DOAX2, my friends commented "And now, you'll be ronery forever."

A year later, I'm in a meaningful relationship with a girl I adore.

I won't lie, I've bought some games because of their sex appeal (i.e. Dead or Alive, Soul Calibur). I would be lying if I said "I just play it for the combos." With that said, the truth is that I don't factor sex appeal very often.

So Escapists, it's your turn to confess.
Never. I'm 31, lost my virginity a long time ago, and do not find polygons attractive. In fact, I had Bayonetta written off at first because so much of the marketing focused on sexuality (that and the title character had grandma titties). Point is, it's insulting.

I must confess that sex appeal makes me inform myself about a game once in a while, but as those games without exception turn out to be pieces of crap I never buy them.

Uhm, I've never bought a game JUST for the sex appeal, i bought soul calibur because i really enjoyed fighting games when i was a kid, so i woulda bought it anyway even if Ivy's boobs werent bigger than her head. Though im not denying that i dont enjoy a bit of sex appeal.. (although again, Ivy's massive boobs is more funny than sexy)

Sex appeal can help in the right type of game, namely an over the top one that doesn't even try to be taken seriously. Devil may Cry - you have a hero who walks around often without a shirt and every female is dressed to distract. Bayonetta same but genderswapped. Tomb Raider...
