(I'm also amazed has to how he got elected 2 fucking times)
The first part of my first post is important in answering this particular question, it's a proven fact that even if a president is generally disliked, chances are he will still be re-elected. It's a strange side-effect of the general human dislike of change. This is the reason why I have no hope for the next six or seven years, I don't really like Obama all that much, and he's pretty much almost guaranteed to get re-elected once his first term is up.

Ok, pretty much all the bad stuff I was going to mention has already been written, so I'll just ask a question for the (currently two) people here that liked him: Why? Mention one good thing about him, please. (Aside from entertainment value...)
Pretty good idea.
In fact, Ill add that to the poll.

does
"i want to kill him by slowly shredding his entire spinal column with a chainsaw starting with his tailbone" say anything to you?

comedically, he was descent.
as a leader, a paranoid dictator such as Ivan the Terrible is better, as at least Ivan didnt majorly fuck anything up, just kept everything stagnant

And how he got voted in twice.
First of all, he wasn't voted in the first time. He was appointed to the position. That wasn't an election, it was a travesty.

And nobody's quite sure if he was elected the second time either. The use of the Diebold voting machines (besides stomping all over anti-trust laws that were enacted by Real conservatives years ago) put them in an excellent position to rig that election too.

So while he wasn't necessarily elected twice, even most conservatives I know consider his presidency one of the darkest parts of US history. It was a gross manipulation of the public resources to pad the pockets of the energy and arms companies the Bush family and their buddies (like Cheney) have a huge stake in.

No, do I have to explain?

Two bungled wars

There was no legit reason to go into Iraq. (well you could say there were lots of legit reasons, but the offical reasons that were givin were not legit.)

Deregulated the US economy and brought down the world economy

Passed no child left behind, and then left everyone behind and cut school funding.

I could go on but, I'm going to go buy dragon age origins

Bush was freaking awesome. I miss him, the man was comedy gold. In terms of policy and crap i didnt really notice that much that was different to life under the clinton administration
As comedian Patton Oswalt put it (this is paraphrased), "I would happily give back the ten minutes of material I got from the Bush administration to go back and never see that man get put into office."

It's not about him being unintentionally funny. He was a horrible speaker, policy generator, and leader, and none of his staff were any better from what I saw the last eight years.

There must have been some merit, because we voted him in twice. I don't think he's the Antichrist, as many seem to think. He just came into the presidency at a fucking terrible time. I think he did the best he could given the circumstances. It could've been worse: Gore or Kerry could've won.

You certainly could go on, but you would probably fall asleep before you managed to list everythiing.

No, but he could have done far worse and I respect him as a man, if not as a politician.

The fact that he wasn't actually even elected the first time doesn't come into it anymore, does it?

Fair enough, but 'elected'(second time) AFTER what he did?

He got voted in a second time because nobody wanted a new guy in office. It's why presidents almost always get re-elected after their first term. As to the topic, did he do a good job? Hmm, let's explore that....

thousands dead in a useless war

economy lower than it's been in decades

the rest of the world now thinks less of America than ever

Yep, he did a great job.

I was going to post just the word "no" but I've already been in trouble for short, over-simplified posts, so....
About the re-election, I think it was Lewis Black who said "In the election, we had to vote for two bags of shit, and the only difference was the smell." Otherwise, you hit the nail on the head.

Anywho, If GW's life was a sports movie, he would be a lovable loser, with every successful thing he did, the media would hold hands and bow to his greatness. Needless to say, there was no hand holding, only dreams.

You don't fight guerrilla warfare by bombing stuff at random. So no.

The worst things he did was mismanage the Iraq war and the economy. The worst thing he did was make the US look like a joke.

I don't think he was anywhere close to doing a good job. I can easily name about a dozen or so things he's done wrong but can not think of one thing he's done right.

Depends on how you define his job... But yeah, those suited to power don't want it, those who have power are not suitable.

Hahaha, no.
I definitely wouldn't have voted for him, not the first and certainly not the second time.
As for the second term, well.
Some people say he actually lost that election.

Considering you're now caught in two wars, an economic crisis and the average person in America is probably the worst off they've been since the '70s, I'd say he did a pretty bad job for you.
