This is a trend I've noticed here: a lot of people have talked about how their friends and family just don't understand their sense of humor. This happens all the time to me, so I want to know if it happens to you.
Sometimes, but most of the time I'm sarcastic, so people do the "Oh, really?" Then I say "no, not really, no." And then they get depressed and throw themselves in front of a train. But the train was stopping so they look like a complete fool.
Most of the time people do. There are those rare jokes i make that most don't get and i have to explain them...and by the end they lose their luster and get boring.
Depends on the joke. Some of my friends have sensitivities I have to be wary of. Most of the time I function ok with bog standard sarcasm with a dash of surrealism.
Strangely, my jokes get the same reaction online as in person. Mostly people have to ask me if I'm joking and then I assure them that I am. Perhaps I have perfected my deadpan face too well.
No peple do not get my jokes, in fact. All the peple I have ever met thought I was irritating.
It is a horrible, crippling blow to my self-confidence.
But seriously, yeah, they probably do. The lack of laughter is probably because my jokes are so terrible.
And yet I continue to crack them almost compulsively. What is up with that.
My humor is mostly cutting sarcasm etc. So people either see me as funny, and do it right back to me, or they don't realize I'm joking and think I'm an Asshole.
I prefer not to be thought of as an Asshole, so I try to avoid making jokes unless I know the person will respond appropriately.
Not many understand my sense of humour. Especially where I work.
They're not like, sick jokes or anything like that. Me and my friend, who luckily got the same job as me in the same building, say things acting like we mean it and then laugh about it.
Admittedly, their reaction to whenever we say "This is why we can't have nice things", is hilarious.
