You just have to believe that there's at least one person out there who's worth your devotion and loyalty. And if you don't believe in that, why's life worth living anyway?
Note how irrational the emotion of love makes us. Even when just talking about, the very idea of having another person to love, a pair bond, a domestic partner is not a really nice idea that would make life more fulfilling to have someone to share their experiences with. Oh no. Without another, "why is life worth living?" Without love, death is preferable.

True love between friends and between lovers is the only thing that separates us from the animals.
Yeah, fuck microwave ovens, automobiles, and cognitive thought. It's true love that makes us different.

Of course, penguins also mate for life...

I believe it most certainly exists, but not with one person. There is no such thing as "the one". A person can fall in love with more than one person in his life.

Nope, not true love. I believe in better/worse matches though, just find one that is "good enough" and stick with it. This also means there aren't just one guy/girl for you, probably quite a lot of them even if they're all different. =)

I'm trying to say it's nothing more than sexual attraction for continuation of the species, and not two people spending forever together and living happily ever after.
There's more to a relationship than just sex. Maybe to you there isn't, but that doesn't mean it applies to everyone.
Maybe, but to me the rest is just herding instinct.

I do, but... not in the traditional sense. I don't think that everyone has that "one true love" out there waiting for them. I believe that there are plenty of people that have the potential for someone to feel true love towards. There are over 6 billion people on Earth, the idea of there being two specific people meant only for each other makes little sense.

But that doesn't make the love any less real or beautiful... true love is a great thing, even if there are many potential people to feel it towards.

I believe in True Love, but not Love at first Sight.
Love at first sight is simply lust... and I'm too tired to make a funny joke about this. Damn.

I say yes, but theres only ONE true love for everyone. So if theres even a shadows, shadow of a chance of doubt in your mind, its not true love. The true love is the one who makes you feel nauseous and complete at the same time. Safe, and vulnerable. They dont complete you, but they make you know what it was that wasnt there before, is there now.

I believe in love that is true and profound, as well as the hurt that comes with. But I definitely don't believe in the idea that there is only one person for everybody.
But I don't tend to like the expression "love" when it's used solely to describe a partner relationship. No one seems to give much thought to the rest of the loves.

Ah... it's refreshing to see all these romantic fools. (sharpens scythe)
No, I don't. Romantic bullshit is sorely overrated.

I believe in many different types of love including true love and love at first sight. I met my husband when I was 17 and he was 19 and fell in love with him at first sight. Though I loved him at the time, I didn't like him at all. I know that sounds confusing but it was all very complicated. It worked out though because he felt the same way. We kinda became friends and did our own things and lived our own lives. Fast forward 8 years later, we meet each other on the street by accident and started dating. We have been married now for over 3 years. :)

Of course I do!

But I am also a hopeless romantic, so maybe I'm biased.
I feel your pain man, but I also believe that in the end, it'll work in our advantage.

I don't believe in love in general.
I think it's just an emotion dressed up from our instinct to reproduce. Then again, I'm very socially deprived, so don't listen to me.

I think there is, but people are too impatient to wait for it and just settle with what feels like it at the time, and then they end up breaking up. I've had my share of relationships, but I'll never stop searching.

I agree with you.

I think there is true love.. I'm not sure I've felt it yet. But I'm pretty sure we are too impatient to find out. It really feels like we're just speed dating, just not officially. Do we really take the time to get to know someone? To truly find out if they're "The One"
