I buy certain DLC. I don't buy weapon packs or skins or anything of that nature where I know it took a day to make and I'd be interested in it for about 5 minutes. I buy things that add on a new story section or area to explore or continue the story. For example I bought some Fallout 3 DLC since it added new areas. I like broken steel because it added the functionality of continuing the game. I bought some Mass Effect 2 DLC since it continues the stories of the characters and adds a new area. DLC is not a smart purchase, very few DLCs can really boast the kind of bonus hours and enjoyment time necessary to justify the purchase. As a result I try to only buy the best or those I will most enjoy or get the most out of. Its a dumb purchase and I want to minimize my stupidity and regret.
