I don't fear death I actually use it as a motivation like going on a plane. I would think if the plane crashed I would instantly die on impact. I'm feeling better already :).
Here's a saying for you.
"Do not knock on deaths door, ring the doorbell and run. He hates that".

Not really. Sure I'd prefer that it didn't happen but I can't say that an overwhelming fear of dying dominates my waking moments...

no. i don't get what the big deal behind it is.

i've nearly died before, and although i cant remember it very well (i was 6 or 7) i actually think that i felt calm about it even at that age.

also, i work as the reaper part time. i like chasing the souls of people that do fear death, it's so much fun. closest thing to human hunting i've experienced.

Not really, no. In fact there are some days when I look forward to it. I don't believe in any sort of afterlife, so the idea of not having to struggle through life anymore is somewhat appealing. Sweet oblivion (and not the Elder Scrolls' Oblivion).

I'm a Christian. I have nothing to fear in death.
Not trying to offend your belief, but having full faith in anything leads to much dissapointment. (Usually) Christianity is good, teaches morals and all the jazz. Although it shouldn't be used as a excuse for things. (Crusades ftl. ^_^)

That's the extreme. Saying "Yes" do this doesn't mean that your fear dominates you. (That's what the first option is for. ^_^)

To all those who say no...Bullshit.

You're telling me not knowing what lies beyond death doesn't scare you? Lack of knowledge leads to anxiety and fear, this is human nature.

I do not fear death; it is inevitable. I fear specific ways of dying.
This.

But if Death is ala Terry Pratchett style, then I wish to hang out with him.

Sure I have an irrational fear of it like everyone. But then again I do not try to avoid it. Personally I wish to live a shorter number of years on earth. I don't like the whole married and raise children lifestyle. Im pretty sure I would be happy to die at around 35

Death and what happens afterwards are two different things.
I don't care what happens afterwards it's just the not knowing when I'll die is annoying.
Be careful your going to turn this into a religion thread.

40+ would be nice for me. <_< And that second sentance makes me think of sombody who would keep walking when a tree is falling a few steps ahead, fun.

Yea, a lot of people fear it for this reason, like me. And I wouldn't call that irrational. *Shrug* Opinionated I suppose.

Death and what happens afterwards are two different things.
I don't care what happens afterwards it's the waiting that annoys me.

I meant both. :/ Most people on the escapist are athiests by my count. The waiting...? For what?

Thought I was going to die on numerous occasions and to be honest, the feeling wasn't that bad. It helps that I don't really give a fuck if it all ends right now anyway.

So no, fuck it, if it happens it happens. Knowing me, it's gonna be messy whatever happens!

Yes. Like so many others, I have an inherent fear of the unknown. It's not death I'm afraid of, but what happens after it.

I should have thought before I said anything. I meant not knowing when that I'll die annoys me. Sorry, I'll fix it now ( Why did I say waiting, I'll never know :/). Probably my beliefs make the idea of death not seem so bad I guess....
