That's as may be, but it is inescapable. All people die. There really is no getting around it. Which is just incentive to make the most of the time you have.

I think in the Silmarillion Tolkien said that Man's short lifespan was a gift as this gave men greater ambition to do more in their fewer years. I think that's a good philosophy to hold onto.

Mmm, I spend my time as I please, doing things I like. Like starting debates on Philosophy. Well, there is always a chance that there is an afterlife and that it's better than living now. I'd rather not check to find out til' I'm ready though.

Okay, maybe my reference was a little more obscure than I thought in the post's context. Here's a hint: It's from a popular movie.

I do not fear death, hell Im ready to embrace it. I want to die, I want to know what happens after, I must have the answer. And why fear the inevitable or even feel sad about it? I never understood why people get so broken up when a person or animal they know dies.

I watched the new Final Destination film the other day (it was rubbish, don't bother, seriously, it was the biggest waste of £5.60 ever. I did see it in 3D though. That was actually hilarious) and it really made me think "What if I died tomorrow?" Basically, I had one of those moments where you think "What if I'm not remembered for anything?" Done hardly anything about it though, just thinking about my inevitable end.

I don't fear death per say, more I fear living after all of my friends and family die, I'm prety sure if that ever happened I would welcome death without a second thought.

Otherwise no I do not fear death, I fear leaving this world without making any difference in it.

I never watched more than a few episodes of RvB, so I wouldn't know. Also, this is kind of off-topic. =P

Death itself does not scare me. I do however fear dying painfully. The way I look at it, death itself is a win win situation. Either you troubles are over forever or you get to keep living.

I do not fear death; it is inevitable. I fear specific ways of dying.
That's how I'd put it. I'm scared of drowning, or sufficating. They are horrible ways to go.
Burning is the worst, your skin is burned off then your muscle, you die once your muscles are burning... Or having your limbs chopped off while sitting in a bath tub of salt water while sombody slowly skins you.
Wow, thats some bad nightmares you've had.

I don't think people fear death as much as they fear not being able to do the things they take for granted. And besides, life is much more scarier than death.

I think drowning /suffocating, burning, etc. to death is bullshit in terms of pain. When your nerve endings die from fire, it's over, unless you didn't sign that DNR. Suffocating/Drowning would suck for a few minutes/seconds. Then there'd probably be the sweet, relieving embrace of death.

No, what I fear of death is nothing you mortals understand. It's the lack of death with the possibility. It's the FEAR of death which I fear, yet ascension to a careless state is unascertainable. I fear of some Final Destination shit, where you know you'll die, but not when, and you get all schizophrenic cause you know it's gonna' happen but when and you try to stop it but can't and it's coming but who what when I hear it it's coming the baying as of a giant hound I know too much the cult rats in the walls wax head OH GOD THAT HAND!!

... Sorry, too much Lovercraft. Heheh. But fear itself IS what I fear. That one prez-o-dent or whomever was right. Gets ya' thinkin'.

No. It will come someday.
I just want to make sure I am remembered when I do die.
There is no point in worrying about what will happen someday. Just live your life to the fullest.
