Yeah, it does annoy me when girls are nerdy to get attention. It should be because you have a passion for nerdy things and not because it's the popular thing to do. Obviously not all female nerds do it for the attention but there are the few that do. It's somewhat sad as well.
Some girls need there attention, they need it or they will explode. I've been kicked from a guild by a girl for being a girl. Because I was a treat to her attention. It sucks and annoys me as well... It's just a game but some of them take it personal.
Yeah, I agree that's pretty crap. There was once a 4chan picture a friend showed me. It was basically the different categories of gamers. Fanboys, know-it-alls, casual, etc. There was one called "girl gamer" and "gamer girl". The girl gamer said "Hey guys, I play games and I'm a GIIIIIRL" whereas the gamer girl said "Hey guys, what are you playing?". Meaning the girl gamer wanted attention for the fact that she plays games and has a vagina whereas the gamer girl just wanted to play games. I thought the picture was true and pretty funny. Unfortunately I couldn't find it again but you get my point.
Found it!

For as bad as 4chan can be, there are times, like this, where it actually spawns something great. Kinda like mining for gold in a septic tank. Sometimes, the most accurate things come from 4chan and not other sources.
Yes, what I like to call the "Polonius effect". Believe it or not, one of the more disregarded boards is capable of feats of great intellect and wit. They just don't happen, as often.
Hmm, I am, without a doubt, number 27.
Guys online can be a real pain, yes. Which is strange because you'd think they'd realize that the non-pricks of their gender were more successful with friendships online and attempt to emulate them. I've actually gotten e-mails, unprompted, from girls by just having a normal conversation with them on WoW.
Just to be safe, though, I assume everyone on WoW is male, despite their avatar.
Except for my friend, Melissa, who plays it.
