Poll: Do you like Lady Gaga?

She is an evil genius. She has very catchy songs, but she gets her fans mostly due to her messed up videos, and it works. And for those of you who think otherwise, she is actually an amazing singer. I've seen videos of her on the piano singing with no backup and she's amazing. It's just that she's obsessed with having a unique image.

If I didn't have this feeling of dread and confusion whenever I saw her on the cover of Rolling Stone and come to think of her as " A Madonna Fashion statement that went a little too far," I would probably stop and listen to a few of her songs. Then again, I don't think I've listened to any of Madonna's songs (other than Santa Baby and a little snippit of whatever they play in Guy Ritchie's film Snatch) so I think I'm ahead of the game in protecting my mind.

Don't like the persona much, but I like quite a few of her songs.

Essentially this. It's different from a lot of the other pop music out there, so will keep my interest for a while. Until the inevitable moment when all of her songs start to sound the same, at which point I'll stop caring.

Worst thing I've ever heard? A Lady Gaga tribute act at my uni summer ball this year. Although she (he? it?) was followed by Hadouken!, so all was good.

Eh, I am indifferent to Lady Gaga. I don't hate her, nor I am I a fan.

Her music just sounds like vanilla pop.

Also, pancakes are God's gift to humanity.

I never really paid any attention to her music, or persona. So therefore I have no reason to like her, nor do I have a reason to hate her.

The song structure is great but the lyric writing is shit-in-your-custard terrible. But these are the same reasons why she makes wonderful radio and party music. There's a beauty to the way she puts that shit-laden custard in your mouth; a beauty strong enough to make you chew. You don't have to smile--in fact, you grimace. But you still chew.

Boring repetitive crap. When she actually writes more than one song with a different set of chords and beats I may listen to her again. But probably not because she's at about the 11 mark on her 15 min of fame. And no she is not the next Madonna.

But she does sell cds and mp3s apparently. Then again crap selling like hotcakes is nothing new.

Not quite. He's offering an opinion about a musical artist, not a member of the community. If he were on a Lady Gaga forum, then yes, perhaps his comments would be banworthy, but that's not the case here. He stated a personal opinion that doesn't attack anyone or anything on this site, which is completely within bounds.

I love her music, but her recent antics have been objectionable in my opinion. Her earliest publicity stunts were acceptable, but recently it seems she has run out of ideas. This comes from a guy who owns both her albums on vinyl, is going to her Minneapolis concert in August, plans to buy her third album on vinyl when it comes out next year, and even has torrented some of her unreleased stuff. Yeah, I'm a Little Monster (*^_^*)
