Yes, but for whatever reason six minutes seems to be a "bad spot"

Five minutes is awesome, don't want it to end.

Seven minutes plus is an experiance, you settle down with a drink and small, furry animal and prepare to just do nothing but listen.

But six, is, I don't know, ehh.

Here's my favorite long song: and the sequel:
Best Drum Solo Ever.

If done well then yes.
A good example is Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
[sup]Now if it didn't have that quiet part in the middle, then it would be even better.[/sup]

Dream Theater's Scene Six: Home

'nuff said.

Octavarium by same is 23:58, and I'm never bored.

And I'm not even gonna get into their Longplay albums.

It depends entirely on whether or not they can hold my interest for that amount of time. This one, for example, can hold my interest for the whole 8 and a half minutes, so I don't mind the length:

Only in dreams by Weezer. Dream theatre has some nice songs too. (a pattern with dreams there apparently...)

It depends on the song. I know plenty of long songs I could listen to endlessly and plenty I couldn't. I have to say, my favourite is probably the masterpiece that is Avenged Sevenfold's I Won't See You Tonight Part 1.
part 2 destroys part 1

Modern songs with words? Normal length.

However, my primary genre of music is classical, so long (orchestral) pieces certainly aren't foreign to me.

It depends. If the song is like some music of the 60s/70s or the Decline by NoFX, where it changes signifigantly throughout, then yes. If it does not, then no, why would I?

One of my favorite songs is "The Adventures of Greggary Peccary" which is over 21 minutes long. SO yes.

(theres not a single repeat in it. In fact its 4 movements)

They're alright, I like Tool. Not too long though. 7-9 minutes i'd say. Of coarse if the song is super repetitive it's going to be shit if it's longer.

Depends... there's a difference between long songs, and songs that are just drawn out for the sake of being drawn out. I'm not a fan of the ladder.

Yes, I absoloutely love long songs. Pink Floyd are the masters of the long song - "Echoes", clocking in at a rather epic 23 minutes, is probably my favourite song by them. Their album "Animals", which features 3 songs over 10 minutes in length, is one of my favourite albums.

I'd also have to recognize "Porcelina of the Vast Oceans" by the Smashing Pumpkins - I never knew that 9 minutes could go by so fast.

I like a long song only if it changes a lot.

Third Eye by Tool
Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden
Metallica songs
Pink Floyd songs too

The songs on that album are a good example of a long song I don't like, what I don't like is something like Dream Theater that makes me gaze at my pillow with lust.
