A simple poll to gather opinion. I know where I stand on the guy (as in, I cannot stand the guy), but I want to see if the majority of us feel the same way. A quick glance at his episode comments shows a flood of "did not enjoy this." Some go so far as suggest he be canceled (I support that). So where do YOU stand with Jim?
I didn't hate his opinions, and I think people make waaaaay too much fuss about them, but I disliked the style of his verbal delivery. He's honestly not any better than any amateur YouTuber with an opinion, I could have probably cooked up something better and funnier myself with a webcam and a mic but I don't have the time and nobody's paying me. So could quite a few people other reading this, no doubt. Just goes to show that public narrative really is an underrated art form that few people really understand how to do well.

Wanting to ban the show is silly. If I were to ban everything I didn't like, there'd be almost no books in the libraries and the entire history of western film and computer games would be reduced to maybe 100 of each. Seems unfair on people with different tastes to me.

It is really meh. I'll watch it, but really only out of sheer curiosity. It really is just like a cross between Zero Punctuation and The Big Picture without the charm of either one.

While I can't really speak much for his actual persona based upon what I've seen here, (and to be honest, based upon what I've seen here, I have no desire to 'back track' to some of his earlier works,) but I'm not particularly impressed so far. To be perfectly fair, I didn't watch Extra Credits for *months* because I was of the ignorant bias, granted, that 'oh, look, another show about games'. Eventually a friend of mine talked me into checking them out, and I've found them to have some of the most thoughtful, thought-provoking, and informative episodes of any type of show (of which there really *aren't* that many) that I've seen, either on the web or syndicated by a large tv-station. So with that thought in mind, I thought I'd give his show a chance, and... well... Yeah. Not interested. Sure, ZP can be crass in its own right, but I have to admit, I find myself agreeing with Yahtzee, even while I occasionally wince at the delivery. The Jimquisition, though? Yeah. No, thanks. Hey, if you're fans, kudos, we're all allowed our own opinions, that's one of the beauties of the internet is the ability to share our diversity of those opinions. It's just that *this* is *mine*.

No, he is an annoying vblogger that rants too much, takes too long to get to the point, and punctuates his setences with 'fuck'. It is very hard to take his points in any way seriously because he doesn't even adress counter points to the very argument he is giving, instead simply attacking their ideas in a negative manner then supplementing his own in a slightly more positive light.

ontop of this... Fucking. Mic. Stand.
seriously if you flail your arms arround like a chipmunk while you talk and you can't keep the microphone at an even distance from your mouth at all times you should really invest in a mic stand.

I don't like him. I feel that we have enough of what he brings in MovieBob and The Overthinkerer (who is also Bob).

Marginalizing opposite viewpoints, completely disregarding any merit a differing idea may have, and being blatantly rude about it in the process has never really appealed to me. So no, I can't say I'm the biggest fan.

The thing with Sterling is that he really does have some solid ideas and arguments, but you have to wade through so much bull-headed BS to get to it that oftentimes it's not worth it. At least, in his videos you do. Somehow his writing is much less grating than his appearances on camera, so I enjoy reading his articles on Destructoid but don't particularly enjoy watching his videos.

I'll watch it if I see a link to it. It's not a draw to the site for me though. Sterling's alright. He's abrasive, but lots of people are, and sometimes he makes a good point. I don't mind him having a show here. Needs to work on it though - seems a bit... bare bones. maybe he should invest in a better camera.

Haven't watched it, but... from what i've read of people's posts describing it a bit (not just the "OMG IT SUCKS" sorts of posts), I don't think it would be my sort of interest. Besides... games are more fun. :3

I dislike the show. its just pointless ranting, about things other features discussed or illustrated better, such as extra credits, extra punctuantion and weekly issue articles.

Much could be forgiven if Jim actually had something interesting to say. But he doesn't, alas.

I haven't enjoyed either episodes, but I didn't like top 5's first couple of eps either and then I came around and started enjoying it so I'll probably watch a few more... Maybe.
Where's Top5 been lately anyway?

I watched it, prepared to hate it, mainly because it was in those Escapist ads that appeared when I was trying to watch other videos.

But I have to say, I found both of his episodes quite interesting. I think he should continue making videos, even if some people dislike them (you know, the same diversity statement made by other people), and not be discouraged.

I agree with this.

Considering the Escapist community prides itself on it's supposed intelligence and maturity, it is rather bizarre to see how many people get worked up over shows/articles that not only are completely free, but are also completely optional to even watch in the first place.
Totally agree with this. It's like those people don't even go to other game sites.

Eh, it's pretty meh. Not anything I want to throw a tantrum over for being offensively bad, but it just comes across as a less interesting than Extra Credits, and less funny than more or less everything else, so I doubt I'll bother keeping up with it.

I like his show. I think he has some valid points mixed with a decent amount of humor. I don't exactly love his show, but I will continue watching it.

I've never really been into the idea of listening to some guy rant about stuff he doesn't like as if it is a fact. That's why I don't like MovieBob and this fella. But if you don't like it, don't watch it. The site won't collapse because of it. Let him do his thing you crying pieces of snot!
