I love Canada for many reasons, but the political climate is starting to rub me off the wrong way, especially in my province (Quebec).

The provincial political scene is dominated by the federalist vs separatist debate and I think it's beginning to be very unhealthy for the province. For instance, I think the liberals currently in power have done several mistakes lately, but I will never vote for anyone else because I sure as hell don't want a separatist government. Even if we eventually get a viable federalist alternative, I'll think twice before voting for them because I'm afraid that splitting the federalist vote might clear the coast for the separatists.

Sometimes I get the feeling I would be happier in Ontario, but I like Montreal and don't feel like leaving.

There are much worse places than England and I count myself lucky I live here but there are a number of other places I would rather live.

I like some things about it but I also hate some things about it.
This petty much sums up my feeling. As much as any country is awesome in its own way, all countrys suck.

For example Japan is very forward thinking, always embraces new tech and it is exstremly in touch with nature and it respects it elders but it also has one of the highest Suicide rates in the world.

America is the richest and currently most powerful country to date but it has the second worst newborn death rate in modern world. (okay i've found out in the most recent study the US came 31st out of the 43 deveoped counties in the 2011 study so it has improved, yaay! But not much considering it has more neonatologists and neonatal intensive care beds per person than Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom but it ranks well below them.)

So you can see all counties rocks and suck in there own way.

I hate living in England. The country's full of arrogant dickheads, it's run by some of the biggest non-completely-evil pricks the world has to offer, there's no particularly interesting landmarks or anything here at all, we have one of the most annoying stereotypes of the lot (not the most offensive but hell, it's so wrong it's annoying), and worst of all, despite being part of Europe, we're not part of the same landmass as Scandinavia. The hell's up with that?
Yeah, there are more reasons I'm too tired to recall.

I love Australia, the place, and Australia, the culture, but Australia the country can go to hell. The government is a stride or two away from being absolute, thrives on overcharging and misrepresenting the people, and has an odd tendency to treat Australians like convicts. Funny that.

If I could have the first two without the third, Australia would be a wonderful place. But as is, I'd rather turn my back on it entirely than contribute to it's existence.

You have it perfectly there. I WANT to love my country...

I don't like where I live. Maybe it's just my town, I went to Somerset once and it seemed like a really nice place but I have a feeling that it's just one of a handful.

Why don't I like where I live? Well, here's a good example of the type of people who live here:
I left my bike locked up outside of my college, tons of people walk past there all the time and there's a security camera on the bikes at all times... and on the second day of taking it to college it got stolen. Some worthless degenerate came along with bolt cutters within an hour and a half of me locking it up, cut through my lock and rode off with it. The police apparently couldn't ID them either which makes me wonder why the hell we even bother with CCTV cameras.

Aside from it being full of scumbags, there's nothing to do and everything is about 2x the price it is in other countries.

I like The U.S. well enough, but I'm not the type to say there is no place I'd rather be, I'd consider moving. I don't feel the need to, I just could.

I love Australia, the people and culture are just wonderful. Also we are one of the fat wealthy western countries so there are a lot of perks. Not a lot I can say against it to be honest - one thing I love about this country is that we remember our fallen soldiers every year on ANZAC day (25 April). Being part of a dawn service wearing my grandfather's medal was one of my proudest moments. Please take a moment to look at this site: http://www.awm.gov.au/commemoration/anzac/anzac-tradition/
WWI was brutal. It was one war that was not about money though. Andrew Carnegie tried to stop it with a blank check....and failed. Thank you for the history lesson about ANZAC day, I never knew any of that.

I too love my country, and it's people who I admit I do not always agree with. I love that we are a combination of many other places and when you go from state to state sometimes it can feel as if you've entered another country and an entirely different culture, of course that's true even in some cities or parts of cities as well.

I'm living in Holland and it's not too bad. Politically it's been going downhill since the new government was voted into place, but apart from that, can't complain really.

I like it. Its not great, but its better than everywhere else I've lived.
Or at least it was when I was last there... the place has been spiraling downwards due to horrible leadership for the past decade. It was apparently one hell of a great place when I was born.

US.
I like it, never ceases to amuse me.
at the very least i find it great,
because of the freedom to dislike some little details like the stupid people.

I live in Costa Rica and love my country but the way the goverment handle it is just awful. They are a bunch of fools who couldn't care less for the people, all busy trying to accumulate power rather than doing things right.

I'm liking my home country less and less each year. Don't get me wrong, I love Australia, but the stigma attached with being Australian is damaging to my own ambitions.

i love America..and i like all western countries. Living in non-west countries must be pure hell. Western culture is obviously the best culture in the world. Imagine living in the middle east or china or india? That must be just awful.

I like it, it has definitely been better here (the 90's for instance). I would actually like to live in any of the countries of my family's bloodlines.

Hate, definitely. Wanted to leave by the time I turned 10, but was stuck there until I could move out and go abroad. To this day, I consider it essentially the prison of my youth. There was nothing there except dirt, heat and ignorance. I can't stand any of those.
Aww c'mon man! we're dying to know where it is!

I'm from Australia, and love it, it's the best country on the planet, barring possibly the UK, or Italy or France, but everywhere else I doubt would be as good.
