No need, Just get out of bed, come home, and lay back in bed. Who needs a perfect bed? xD

I pride myself on my bedroom looking like something out of "better homes and gardens", The overly numerous plumped up feather and down cushions, the round bolster, pinstriped egyptian cotton 1000 count thread cotton doona cover, the black silk quilted foot comforter with chinese garden scene embroidery, draped just carelessly enough to not look contrived.

I make sure the sheet's on straight and that sort of thing, unless I'm in a too-pissed-to-care-falling-into-bed-in-my-clothes state.

I take a bit more care in places where I can bring my own things. All I have right now is clothes and four books, plus my laptop. If I had my own bedsheets, like last year, I would care more. Right now I'm in a room which has peeling wallpaper, a slightly broken window, and the heating comes on when it feels like it, until the end of this month, when it'll go off again until mid-September. Welcome to Saint Petersburg.

Yeah, I do my homework on my bed so having the covers on it lets me just dump everything on the floor when I crawl into bed at 2 in the morning...

I do it once a week cause I make myself clean my room every Wednesday and that's part of it. Great part about cleaning your room only once a week, light enough where it dosen't take too long usually, and heavy enough where it'd not just practically pick up as you go.

Yeah, if my sheets get pulled to the point where it's uncomfortable for me to sleep (IE, feet poking out from the covers), I'll make it up.

I make my bed because it provides a routine that keeps my gears moving. Unlike brushing my teeth or showering, it requires finer motor skills and more detailed steps and it helps me. That helps my brain get moving.

When I can, most of the time I'm out the door pretty quickly to notice it.

But if I have company... that I think might be in the proximity of my bed... or possibly in it. I always make sure to have the bed made

Some very interesting results so far!

I had expected most people to say they made their bed!

Any other reasons people can find for or for not making their bed?

Making it traps heat and that is beneficial to the mites that live there.
So keep it off your bed ;)

I make my bed if someone's coming round and they'll be going into my room for some reason, but otherwise I don't bother. I tend to use my bed as a dumping ground for stuff I use during the day (work related items, books, guitars, other assorted crap), so making it, only to then dump things on it, seems like a waste of my time really, when I could just leave it.

I'm too lazy to check whether someone's already said that but here goes: making your bed is actually quite a bad idea, since it provides ideal living conditions for mites, according to some scientists [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/4181629.stm]

But that's not the (main) reason I don't do it, I'm just too lazy. I do agree that it makes the room look tidier, though, so I tend to do it right before I have some friends over, if only to hide some of my used clothing under the blanket.

But I do hang it out to air regularly (since that's also bad for the mites) and change the sheets every three to four weeks.

"Making the bed" has always been defined as folding my blanket and that's it.

So that's what I do every morning.

No, mostly because I'm going to sleep in it again in a few hours. Sort of a waste of time.

No, because it is just going to get messed up again that night anyway; I will make it up if my grandparents are coming to visit or something like that.

My bed is already made when I wake up. My bed is too short for me. when I sleep under the covers, my feet stick out and get cold. Then I wake up. Turn myself into a ball, and repeat.

So I just let them get cold.
