I'm kinda old and outdated I suppose... I have a TV which I bought.. oh.. I dunno, around the time the PS2 came out, maybe? It doesn't feature several of those "R/W/Y" jacks for game systems to hook up to. I have my VHS (which I still use occasionally, but have since turned to torrents for old shows and such if I can't find one of my tapes) hooked up with my PS2 hooked in back and my GCN hooked in front.

My Wii is the living room because my bedroom light fucks with the sensor and tends to screw up my gameplay.

But yes, I DO have a VHS, it still works, and I use it fairly regularly.

Yes I still have one and it's hooked up to my TV, but I rarely use it. Years ago my mother decided to get rid of all the tapes we had collected over the first 20 years of my life, and the ones that were transferred to DVD have so many artifacts and pauses in them they're virtually unwatchable.

Al right team, move in! Go go go!

I love that photo, I have it as my background on my phone. Nice find.

On-topic: Why yes, I still have and use (sparsely) a VCR, which needs VHS's to funtion. Haven't used it for quite a long time now, since I've pretty much stopped going to bed in time, instead staying up to see the show through.

no, don't want one, and I am beginning to think DVD is obsolete
the machine marches on!
This confuses me. How is the DVD format becoming obsolete? There's not enough of a visual difference between DVD and Blu-ray to actually constitute buying a blu-ray player that isn't also a PS3, and there's no other selling point besides the visual difference. Am I missing something, or are you talking about digital distribution of movies?

Yeah I still have it hooked up to my old TV back at my parents house. Mainly cause I lost the aerial connector for my PS2, and the Xbox takes the SCART, so I had to jerry rig it through the VCR to get a signal.

Yep, I have a VCR, but my kid uses it more than I do. I have a lot of stuff on VHS: movies I recorded off TV as a kiddo, tapes of my dad's old public access show, rare movies which would be expensive or impossible to "upgrade".. mostly I watch DVDs, but ain't nuthin' wrong with some good down-home old-timey VHS. I should probably buy a few backup VCRs now, incase mine breaks someday when they're impossible to find.
