Ha, you'd be surprised just how many times I've seen the line 'XXXXXX is awesome. Watch it. Now. What're you waiting for?' without much critical justification.mireko said:You'll get derision for not liking unbelievably repetitive and formulaic shonen?
That would be awkward.
Yeah, those are the ones.Jonluw said:I believe the people you are thinking of are "weeabos". Even the fans hate weeabos. Don't let someone telling you they're a fan of anime make you think they are of the "Japan is superior" kind.mireko said:I can't stand the fans, though.
[sub]Yeah, I suspect you know this already. I just need to make sure...[/sub]
well when theres about a hundered different series its not to hard for everyone to find something they like in anime. thats one thing i like that if i finish a short series (though most are still running and just dont end) i still have a hundred more choices in what to watch next.A random person said:One thing I've noticed among many gaming sites is that there's a pretty big overlap between gamers and anime fans. I think Pokemon has a little to do with it, otherwise I don't really know why.
Also, since you asked, I suppose my growing up on Pokemon had something to do with my liking anime, though ultimately I just ran into a good bit of series I liked.
I have to recommend you try Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.Arqus_Zed said:(something I also like about these series is that they're SHORT. I don't like stuff that just goes on and on and on...)
If you're open to something, have tried it before, and make a reasonable, non-flaming judgement, it is ridiculous to be flamed for it.bahumat42 said:Theres a small overlap but i feel a lot of gamers (like myself) watch shows and find far too many similarities to continue viewing it as a worthwhile form. I have seen good shows, but they are few and far between, and i don't (and can understand others who don't) have the energy or time to sift through all of this.
I will get flamed for this opinion and i don't mind. Its a very self-involved medium.
