Poll: Do you watch Let's Plays?

Yep, all the time, in fact. I like video LPs, though textual ones are good on ocassion. On Youtube, I've been currently watching the Let's Plays of ChuggaConroy and ScottishDuck17 (there were some other good ones, but I think they were taken off Youtibe).

There's also a site for LPS at www.lparchive.org. (By the way, if you do go there, I especially reccomend the hilarious LPs of TheDarkId.)

I prefer Let's Plays to demos, if I can find a good one. Seeing a real person* play the game is a much better way to learn about it than to rely on game journalists' opinions or publisher-made demos.

Skorch82 did all of fallout3 including the DLC and Dave has a desert bus round trip with some friends on skype

I watched all of the Spoony One's LP's but that's about it.

I watch a couple, my favourite one has to be Spoony's one for SWAT 4, it's hilarious how irritated he gets by it.

Other than that, I'll watch maybe one or two, but that's the only one that comes to mind.

LP's are horrible. Like I said before, they are generally nothing more than nasally dorks providing awkward commentary and repeatedly saying "what the FUCK?" when things in the game don't go their way.

They are awful and I'd rather just read a walkthrough.

He may be the go-to choice these days, but my favourite is SirRonLionheart. His LP's for Sonic The Hedgehog demonstrate true gaming skillzzzz, but also show us the ins and outs of the game, which is what a lot of LP-ers forget is the actual point of the video.

Yay! Yeah, Vega's vids are awesome, it is a shame he's given up on LPs.

I like watching them as it is funny to hear what the player is thinking. This is especially interesting when they are doing a Blind run.
