All the time even when I'm going on really short journeys.

The seatbelt is there to protect the driver and the passengers.

Also this may sound like a bit of a rant but I hate when people get into cars, to go to a shop about 5 minutes away and they refuse to put their seatbelts on, because apparently car accidents don't happen in five minutes. No, I strongly believe that the road is a very unpredictable place, were anything can happen, anything.

I wear one. I don't think the law should be able to tell me to wear one, though. If I don't wear it, who else am I potentially hurting? I guess there should be an age on this law, any passengers under age X must be wearing seat belts.

But wearing your seat belt is common sense. But so is signaling your turns, and who knows how many lazy assholes I get behind that find flicking that switch so damn hard to do. How am I to expect them to go through all the effort of putting on the seat belt?

I wear one all the time...as others have said, I don't know why you wouldn't. Even if they're uncomfortable for some reason, there are ways to get around it that are easy and inexpensive.

Yeah, duh. I always wear my seatbelt and I don't start driving until everyone in the car is wearing theirs. Better to be safe than sorry.

I wear a seatbelt all of the time, because when I was 8 in the USA on holiday, we ended up having a head on crash. Luckily we had just decided to drop off my sister about 2 minutes before we left, otherwise she probably would have had her legs broken at least, ever since then I've just never considered not wearing a seatbelt - Its saved my life once, it may do so again.

I always wear my seatbelt, it doesn't get in the way so why would anyone refuse to.

On another note; I'm really glad and slightly surprised to see the overwhelming response is that people do use their seatbelts. I see enough stupid driving all the time, it's good to know that at least most of those idiots are buckled up.

Well, yes. I don't see why not, it could not only save my life one day, but it's also the goddamn law, so yeah.

Never underestimate the power of the human projectile, mate!
Seriously though, I suppose that depends on whether or not there's anyone sitting in front of you.

Yeah. All the time. If people don't wear one in my car then they can get out and walk. I know I am not legally responsible for them if they are over 14 but I'd still feel pretty guilty if there was a crash and they died, regardless of whether it was my fault or not.

I'm sick of hearing people tell me if they, or someone they knew, wore a seat belt in such and such accident- they would have died. How many times have we heard this bullshit?

This isn't the fucking movies. The seat belt is not going to jam. The car is not going to catch on fire and explode in a few seconds while you shout dramatically into the camera.

And even if it did. Even if it just really wasn't your day and everything went wrong. You still have better odds than if you'd been ejected from the vehicle.

Ejection in an accident typically equals death.
Seat belt use/staying with the 1-2 ton crashing object typically equals minimal injury.

So do you think I really give a shit your uncle or joe blow says he would dead if he was wearing a belt? Put your belt on or get out of my god damn car.

I like my brain inside my head, therefore I wear a seatbelt.
Also, my dad broke his nose on two occasions because of a lack of seatbelt.

I used to be very strict about it when I was little. Would get into arguments with people who wouldn't, too.

Nowadays... I try to, but every now and then I'll forget.
